EU Cookie Law - Not sure if I need to implement an advisory warning??

I don't use any tracking software like Google Analytics or anything like that. It's just blog with content and a few links.

This is a bit of a headache for a technical retard like myself.

Don't really know if you should or not but I have discovered that this warning does appear to all members on my site, so I questioned my superiors and they said that its law now to inform users about the cookies.

I wouldn't worry about it as there is no way they can enforce it. Millions of websites are non-compliant.

The ICO (UK) have said they will only follow up on user complaints. When was the last time a consumer complained about Cookies on your money site???

Yes I would have thought that was very difficult to police and although they say it's not restricted to UK residents or those using UK hosting, what are they going to do, extradite people from America to the UK?

Well it could happen; we've seen hackers extradited from here to the U.S. to face charges but our government are really great at dreaming up stupid ideas to actually hinder and stifle trade in the middle of a recession.

We've only just had the pasty tax revoked because it was so dumb and ill-conceived. They figured it would be smart to put 20% tax on a hot sausage roll but not a cold one... !

Yes you need to warn - but who what they going to do if you don't? Chances are they will tell you to make a non compliant site compliant.
