Its impossible to work on the Internet today

A bit over half an hour ago my son phoned to announce the birth of my newest grandson, Alexander. I already have 5 grandsons but this one has done something special to me inside. He gurgled at me over the phone and it has thrown me for six (cricket term meaning a great event). I think it will be impossible to do much work today.

Just wanted to share my joy with you.

Hey, it's the end of the day - Sunday, here in balmy Michigan (I must be dreaming).

Anyway, I can vouch for the impossibility of working on the 'net this weekend. I just offloaded a few of my g'kids who were staying at Nanna and Poppa's this weekend. So despite the fact that everyone here at the WF missed me, I can say that I'm on an emotional high right now. Man - those rugrats are SOOOOO cool!!

Congrats Norma, and I hope that the situation in Aussie-land is returning back to normal again!!

Well, as Talltom can vouch, I am not the only grandparent in the WF. They add to the confusion sometimes and can take your focus right away but the pleasure they give is without measure.

You are all awesome and thanks for the good thoughts.

As you are asking about the conditions here its been hell but in Canberra right now its a pleasant day, around 27 degrees C. Tomorrow, however, there will be very strong winds in Victoria where fires are still burning plus it will be hot. They are expecting the worst.

There are fire fighters from the USA, New Zealand and some other places as well as from all over Australia to tackle the issue. The problem we are all facing in the South is lack of water. We are in a long hefty drought.

Anyway, get your minds off that one. There is nothing we can do now about the weather except pray.

A new birth and a new day is what I will be concentrating on.

Yep, I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. Luckily its going to be fairly mild weather and a bit of rain over the next few days, though.

Have to update you. Today I met baby Alexander for the first time. Cute little button nose, beautiful features, darkish brown hair, pink all over, no crying, good disposition and looks to me like he is enjoying life. When I get a good picture I will post it for you.

His mum has spent the last four weeks in hospital and he was born by caesarian yesterday. Andrew, my son, showed up pictures of the birth today and it was simply amazing. He had the biggest grin on his face as he cut the umbilical cord and there are great shots of the three of them together afterward.

His other grandmother was there also today and she cried on my shoulder. She only had one daughter and one granddaughter, now ten years old, and never thought she would ever hold another baby. This little one has brought much joy into the world with him.

Norma congratulations, as a Nana to a 5 and 3 year old, Adam and Jessica are hubby and I's deepest joy. We're lucky enough that we see them several times a week. Nothing like it when they snuggle up on your knee.

Jessica especially only has to blink her eyes at us and we're putty. (I've just organised a holiday in Centre Parcs at Nottingham in the UK because she wanted to go).

Best thing of all about grandkids is you can spoil em like mad, then send them home lol

Gosh Kim, do you have that condition as well. Its certainly amazing how quickly a baby can put senior adults around their little fingers. They twinkle and we crinkle. Thanks for sharing as well.

Congrats, Norma that is such a Joyful thing.
Just had my first child 3 months ago. It is quite Amazing. And doing IM with full time Stay at Home dad is a Balance act. Trying to squeeze in 20 minutes here and there when Nap time occurs can be tricky to say the least. My best luck is at Night when everybody is asleep. Thats when I get the work done. Its pretty productive, but I just have to budget my time making it hard to stay on Warrior as much as I would like !!

Anyway, congrats again !!

Thanks Mizz. The latest on the fires is all good. The weather has changed for the better and fires are under control. Firefighters are now being stood down and people are returning to their communities to start rebuilding their lives, as painful and difficult as that might be. The death toll is 210 I think with some 80 missing. They may never be found because there is nothing left of them except for possibly a piece of jewelery or some other personal item they were wearing.

Thanks Carter. I enjoy my grandsons very much. Yesterday I had to attend my 3 (soon to be 4) year old's school for grandparents day. He was delightful as he pretended to make me a cup of tea and we drew things together. He is no Picasso but his talents with play dough show he is probably going to be a pastry cook. The morning tea afterward was great as well and met a lot of grandparents who, like me, were beaming from ear to ear.

Yes, it is. Grandchildren are a blessing that has to be experienced to appreciate. We know what children do for parents and vice versa and how strong the bonding is at that level but grandparents have something else extra special that only their grandchildren know about. I am only now discovering how excited and welcoming even the youngest of them can be.

It is a great feeling.

I'm struggling to meet my family's end needs and thinking of using internet make additional income.

Gosh, anyone struggling to meet a family's needs should be looking elsewhere for an income unless and until they know all they can learn about the ins and outs of Internet marketing. Try to get some work, anything, until you feel comfortable and then spend whatever time you can spare here in the forum to learn. Ask questions and do some courses.

If you have a hobby, knowledge in any particular area, or something else that you are attracted to I would start there.

And my mom I am sure would agree to grandchildren multiplying like rabbits as in January her tenth grandchild was born, but that's what happens when you have 4 daughters (and one has five children LOL). And I agree with others, you don't look old enough to have grandchildren (but many say I don't look old enough to have 5 children either LOl) Anyways enjoy it as I am sure you know they grow up too fast.
