YouTube Video - How Long To Get Listed?

I know some YouTube videos probably get listed on Google pretty quickly. Some take longer I guess, if they are even listed at all on the top pages of Google.

How long does it usually take for a video to show up within the first five pages of Google? This would be for a niche not real competitive, like Internet Marketing or Dieting or tough ones like those.

Maybe there is no real defined answer to this question. But, I know for EzineArticles, a good article can show up on Google fairly quickly. Sometimes it takes a few days. I just wondered if a YouTube Video is similar in that way.

Works like any other indexed content except the actual video content can't be indexed (yet)...

Do you have good tags? Descriptive text in the description with the keywords you want to rank for? A title that follows the same guideline?

Views, comments, & ratings also come into play...making it more "relevant" if these are higher...

Hi Andy,

A YouTube video should show up on the YT system in an hour or less. I guess it depends on how busy they are.

As for showing up on Google, that depends on your backlinking efforts such as through SocialMarker dot com and the like.

Don't forget to upload it for free to a bunch of different video services via Tubemogul dot com AND make sure your URL appears throughout the video (easy to do in Windows Movie Maker).

One final tip:

Once uploaded to YT, make sure you have your http://www.yourdomain dot com listed in the more info section (just www without http:// won't make the link live!) AND

then use the Annotations feature to put a big arrow and message to your live link on the right e.g.

  you wont get listed on google search engine using youtube any more, they use the NOFOLLOW link for your site links now, have done for the past few months. Google will not follow nor index a page from a site that has the nofollow links.
