I am currently using aweber, but they do not allow manual input of names/email addresses without verifying/confirming. I already have a professional relationship with the offline business owners in one of my groups and some of them don't want to have to optin, as we've been having email correspondence for years already. Do you know of a reputable/reliable autoresponder service that allows manual input of names/email addresses without requiring a confirmation/optin?

Thanks

Ron

I think imnicamail would let you as long as you have a valid IP
    from them

Imnica allows you to do it if you have the paid subscription.

GetResponse also allows you to do it.

One trick to get this done is to make your List (removing opt-in confirmation), grab the HTML and put it into your WP site (in the sidebar or something). Then enter your client's email address. Presto! They are now subscribed and you did not have to enter it manually within the autoresponder GUI. Nice!

I think Self Hosted Interspire Email Marketing Software will work best in your business but it is a costly solution but is a excellent long term solution

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I disagree with most of the posts above.

I don't think Imnica, iContact or GetResponse will allow the manual entry of these "subscribers" without evidence that they have at some point opted in per se, because I don't think it would make sense for any autoresponder service to allow people to type in their own "subscribers", without starting with a confirmation, without documented evidence of their having opting in.

(But there's no sense theorising about it - ask them!).

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't, myself, want to be a customer of an autoresponder service that did allow people to do that, because it would be terribly open to abuse, which means people would abuse it, which means people would get spam reports, which means their deliverability would decline, which would damage the businesses of all their other customers and the autoresponder company itself.

They have to be strict about this, in order to protect their other customers and their own businesses.

It may be that some sort of self-hosted solution is your only realistic answer, here.

If they are in Aweber, I've heard they can be export and the other services will allow an import. I haven't ever moved from Aweber so I can't say for sure.

I missed the manual entry part of the question before. I agree, I wouldn't use a service that allowed that either. Their deliverability would be horrible.

I was afraid of that. My short list with this one group is around 25-30 people and although "I" would not spam them, obviously others could take advantage and spam. So... back to the drawing board, which is probably that I will have to manually send them emails one at a time. Or, "one at the time," as Paula Deen would say.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

Most good AR's allow you to add your current list as long as you can prove the list is legit (you may be required to provide the IP address of your subscribers in a .csv file)

For example, imnic uses the following procedure for list import: How do I import my lists? : Imnica Mail Customer Support

if you you have date/time stamp and ip subscription information with your subscribers data from you aweber account, there are several services that will let you import those subscribers without sending a confirmation optin email.

In fact, all the major AR services I know of will let you do that if you talk to them. Getresponse, Aweber, ConstantContact, and iContact will all let you do that on a case by case basis if you have the data i mentioned above. Of course if the leads have truly opted into your aweber account, you should have all that data.

But none that i know of will let you manually add leads using just the email address and not require a confirmation email.
