Pls Help! - How to protect the Actual "Download Page" itself in WP?

I use a custom payment system (not a wp site)..

After the payment I have the option to redirect the customers to my WP site (the actual product site), where they should download their products..

But, the point is;

How do I create a download page that'll not be shared?

Is there any way to generate "dynamic links for thank you page" in wordpress, which expires after 1 day or some time?

Since the actual url of the "thank you page" needs to be hide obviously.

Any advice on this would be greatly welcomed.

    Hello

    I have never heard of any plugin that creates dynamic links to your download page. If there was such a plugin it could cause problems if you get multiple sales in a day. I am not sure if that would work.

    The best way I know to protect your download link is to use software such as download guard.

    You can protect your download page from Google by enabling a SEO plugin and choosing "no Index" for that particular page. A good plugin for this is Platinum Seo plugin.

    However this will not prevent people from sharing your actual page URL.

    I also never heard of such a plugin. What you can do is use Ejunkie as your payment processor and they will take care of the entire system and you can concentrate on other features of you website.

    There are plenty of WordPress plugins that create temporary, unique download urls, but they all rely on using a known payment gateway like Paypal, 2CO etc.

    If you are using a custom payment solution, it's going to make it much harder.

    But what happens when they download your product from your suecure area.
    They will share the file all the same. If they have the intention of sharing.
    Then It will be shared. Nothing can really be done to stop completely that.
    Ofcourse just secure yourself as best you can.

    Simmeon is correct. If people are going to share it, they will share it. Just thought I'd let you know that I use ejunkie, $5 a month but for me, it's worth it.

      you can also set up a password/ membership site -have your customers create a login after payment, while that won't stop people from sharing your files if it's a download it will at least let you kill off any accounts that have been shared online,.

    I've found this plug-in.. It claims to show the download page if the visitor comes only from a selected url (eg. paypal)

    "wp download protect"

    It can solve my problem very efficiently but their product is removed from clickbank.. couldn't bought it. Does anybody know about this, or a similar plug-in that works the same way.

    And thanks for all recommendations..

      There are plenty of solutions out there but it all depends
      on how much traffic you're sending and the hosting
      you're using...

      If you're using VPS or Dedicated then use
      something like DLGuard or Optimize Press with
      Digital Access Pass

      If you're using shared hosting then you should look at using
      something like Nanacast that's Hosted already..

    The only really effective solution to this problem is to make your links "expire". This means that a download link is usable for just a limited period of time, rendering the link useless to forum and search engine traffic after this period.
    Whith Dl Shield,     when your customers pay, they are provided with a new link that is valid for a specific time (set by you). When the link expires, it is completely useless to anyone.

      In addition to redirecting your buyer to your WP site, does your custom payment system have the ability to "talk" with other script/plugin e.g. WP membership plugin? You need to consult with your custom payment system developer about this. Just curious, is there any particular reason why you need to use a custom payment system?
