if this is a luxury water-closet I would not recommend to share it with 100 people.

but if it is something you can reach online, why not? You only have to gather those
100 people e.g. with an announcement.

Surely that would be tantamount to theft. The product is priced at $2,000 per copy / item / whatever.

Also, if it's software, most software of that caliber permits one, or at most two installations. Every time it's booted up it "calls home", and additional installations simply would not work.

The initial purchase would have to be made by one named person, you no doubt, so who do you think the seller will prosecute when he discovers exactly what you've done?

Earn the money to pay for it. It's not like you'll starve to death without it.

"Group buys" require pirating copies of the product later. You really don't want to promote that here.

    Seriously. Just don't.

I thought that only happened on torrent sites and blackhat sites.

All I'm saying is I've participated in group buys on legitimate forums, and I don't remember anyone sharing the product afterwards. Or maybe I just didn't see it, but I didn't realize there was so much piracy involved in these buys.

Just forget the product that you can never reach with your current financial.

you will regret it at first, but time goes and you will forget. Don't force yourself getting something out of your hand.

If you really need it, borrow some money and fine some side-job. If you don't have the side-job, forget about borrowing and buying the product

If you truelly believe that the product would be life changing for you and your business you might consider to
    - Sell what you don't need
    - Get a second job for a short period of time
    - Get a loan

But definitively don't get involved into group buying for reasons above mentioned, and troubles could be bigger then your savings.

This would violate most licensing IMHO.

Group Buy? i think it is the second name of piracy, i wouldn't recommend you to do that.

Do the right thing! There are too many open source and free software options to even consider something shady. Here is a list put out every year by a reputable magazine: free software

Do a Google search for what you need and add open source alternative. Once you start earning a good income you can buy the latest version of the high priced product if you think you need it.

You didn't say whether the product is software or not - I just assumed it was at that price. If this is just an information product then get busy doing your research so you can find a free or very low cost alternative.

I know we in the United States know very little of the struggles faced in places like your country but I hope this helps.

No you cannot get 100 people together to share someone's product. If you can't afford it, move on and get something you can afford. What you are proposing is piracy.

The reason that they are considering it piracy is, even though it is "group buy", the terms of purchase are probably not intended to be understood as "Buy this and share it with other people that pay 20 dollars each"... no. Even if it is not explicitly stated, if I sell a product (any product: info, software/etc), it is intended to be used by 1 sole consumer, unless I state otherwise. If you sell 1 copy for 2000 dollars, I don't care if that 2000 came from 1 person or 2000 people (HEY! A Dollar each! What a "steal!"...). My expectation is that this 1 copy is only used by 1 person. Anything outside of this 1:1 usage is piracy, even if the initial source was paid for. AND, even if it is not shared on a piracy or torrent site. Even sharing a single copy with a single friend is (technically) piracy.

    Don't copy that floppy!

Ok I see this is something totally different than what I thought.

You guys are talking about "group buys" that actually seem to be organized by the buyers, and not the manufacturers. Then yes, that obviously sounds like piracy.

Only group buys I've participated in were advertised directly by the site. This sounds like some shady stuff people are doing to pool money together and then share a product, thats not even offered as a group buy.

Good to know. I'm still probaly not understanding it right but I think I get it.

    Thanks! - Red

As others have mentioned, sharing a copy with many that is designed to be sold to one is theft.

What would you do if you wanted to buy a car that cost $2,000 and you didn't have the money? You could get a loan for it. Other than that, you either save your money until you can afford it or you just don't buy it. Life goes on either way.

Unless the software/product comes with reseller rights, No.

That's like buying it yourself, and then reselling it to 100 people for $20 bucks each - you don't have the legal right to do that.

    Kukelka -

I once had a young man in Romania contact
me when I offered a product out of his
financial range. He was 16 then.

He offered to build FIFTY websites for me.

I accepted 15 and you know what? He
built 15 very high quality websites - not the
kind of junk you see people trying to sell
    here.

I gave him the product, after he did what
he promised, and he went on to earn up to
$1800 per month from just one affiliate
program using what he learned from my
    product.

I understand that in your part of the world
that's A LOT of money, especially for a teen.

Six years later I still hear from him now and
    then -

The point here is money is only one way
    to acquire something -

Stealing is another, and he could have
stolen my product like thousands of other
    losers have.

I don't call them losers because I look
down on them - I call them losers because
that mentality can only lead to one outcome.

Find a way young man -

You can do it. And always remember that
money is only one tool at your disposal - it's
an exchange of value - recognize the value
    you have to offer.

All the best to you - X

I would also agree with you. The best way to get this would be to share among a few guys but not to the extent of 20$, you will hardly be able to keep it to yourself and even your log in or account might get banned from there. Seen it happeneing in case of membership sites.
