I was emailed an offer to buy 20 PLR ebooks in random niches, with sales pages included as well. For about 50 dollars.

Problem is, I've never been very good at selling stuff online, so I'm asking is this worth it.

A basic process I've got is to obviously try to rank some videos for it, with landing page linked under. Or for them to sign up for my email list. Is that a strong enough way to do it, or should I include other channels?

And after that is it worth it? I'm so bad at selling online, at least i can admit it. (im generally an offline marketer)

If you are bad at selling online why would you want to spend money on a product that can only be sold online? Why not first grab some free PLR content and try your strategy on that? If it works and you make money then you won't feel bad about paying for PLR books. If you are bad as you say you are at selling online at least you won't have thrown away any money.

      Have to agree with this.

    Grey:

If you suck at selling stuff online, don't sell stuff online. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

I also don't know who sent the offer for the PLR to you, but there's only a few people I trust enough to look at their PLR (besides myself), and I found them all here in the WF. Check out Tiffany Dow's site, Tiffany Dow - Internet Marketing from the Ground Floor-Up, and see what all she has to offer that you might could use. She has amazing sales once a month or so (she had one last weekend where everything was $1!!) and then check out her PLR ATM if you really want to know how to use it. It's a great course that teaches you how you can actually learn to sell stuff online.

    I wouldn't.

I've found so much PLR online that isn't worth anyone's time, I wouldn't just dump $50 on any offer I see. Not to mention it's in 20 different niches you don't even know about.

Grey, I would recommend that you could purchase a much larger amount of plr for $50. I must also reaffirm what others have said, if you are no good at selling online, this is probably not the offer for you. On the other hand, your video and email list should at least get a few results. I would take it another level and market something like that in forums you visit in signatures and posts, where it is allowed.

You're joking right? Take a look at all the Multi-million dollar ebooks in ClickBank.

      Truth About Abs
      Fat Burning Furnace
      The Diet Solution
      The Tao of Badass

and that's just the one's I know of. There are also a lot of multi-million dollar ebook businesses not even on ClickBank.

Again, it's beyond me why they still sell.

But I get what you mean. I differentiate, I guess, different than most people. More so, I would refer to the 1000s, dare I say, millions of b.s. crap eBooks that just get tossed around from person to person. Visit any eBook website that sells their "library' for $1.

I don't really like the idea of PLR. I like creating new content.

There are many PLR ebooks around that have been widely distributed already ... everyone and their mother has them. I wouldn't buy that offer. If you want to sell a PLR ebook, get something new that hasn't been spread all over.

Unique ebooks are best. Buy a PLR one and add to it and make it unique. There's a lot of junk PLR ebooks out there.

I think PLR product can help you to make money online if you have thorough knowledge about the market and about that product also then don't just put that product on sell because those are not up-to-date as user require. so my advice is to you that increase your productivity and recompose that product with current requiments

I got some clients who wanted to order PLR books, which I don't provide. They prefer buying a PLR ebook due to its cheap price. Quality does not come cheap. I'm not surprised with their answer that that's what they only want to invest to earn money online. I don't see the rationality of expecting Earth out of a $10-priced PLR ebook. If that's the norm in internet marketing, I don't want to join their bandwagon.

You definitely can make money out of PLR, but is is an art in itself. It is not as easy as just setting up the site and the money flows in - you have to know what you are doing, and it absolutely has to be good quality. There is so much PLR out there that is rubbish it is unreal, but you can find some diamonds in the rough.

In your case, I would agree with others posting here - if it is not something you are comfortable with, give it a miss. One of the biggest traps online is 'shiny object syndrome' where you get distracted from your core work by something that takes you in a different direction. To succeed, you must stay focused, so I think you would be better concentrating on your offline marketing.

If you think you can use those books to sell and make money then why not buy them? I think if you are sure that you will make some good ROI on them, then go ahead and buy them. At worst case you will lose some money but you will definately learn something.

    Should you buy? Hell no!

I myself sell high quality ebook packages on Fiverr for $5, get GREAT reviews, and have a "Gig Extra" where you can get all of my ebook packages in a variety of niches - over 450 ebooks total, with sales page/squeeze page, Master Resale Rights - all for $15 TOTAL, and GOOD MATERIAL.

$50 for 20 plr ebooks is TOO MUCH. Don't invest so much into plr stuff unless the seller guarantees to only sell a limited amount of copies.

If they are brand spanking new PLR, then snap them up. Otherwise look elsewhere. There's plenty of good stuff to be found for much cheaper in much greater quantities, but if the guy wrote them himself (ie they're new), it would be a reasonable buy.

You guys are awesome, that's some of the best direct advice I've had in a while. I did not buy and chose to hold off until I get a little extra time to invest in learning more about selling online. I feel like I've searched up how to make money online for 3-4 years, and have made more money offline with my first client.

Now I know there is a lot to be made online as well as offline, so I'm not bashing either. I've just had the worst of luck with online sales, can't wait to find something that works. Thanks again for the advice everyone.
