Can involvement devices increase your conversions?

Do you think including involvement devices like providing a text box for an answer to a question or using a simple poll to engage a visitor can help increase list sign ups? I was thinking of trying it on a sqeeze page or just above my contextual sign up form.

I don't know about on your squeeze page, but I do know that the more you can get a reader involved with your site, the more invested they will feel. That certainly won't hurt conversions.

I'm not sure about putting a poll or survey on squeeze page to increase sign up, but it's a good idea to use them for your subscribers who had signed up. The key to email marketing is your relationship with your subscribers. Having a survey/poll, ask them what they need/their problem, being helpful and provides value will definitely increase your conversions.

This is not a bad idea at all. I know if I had already been involved in something prior on your page like a poll, I would be more willing take my hand out from underneath my chin a second time to signup for your list. If your list has worthwhile content, I would bet it would increase your sign ups by at least a bit.

Very good point. This is what I was thinking as well. I read about involvment devices helping the user to take action, but have not heard of anyone applying it to a squeeze page.

      • Good question - it was stated in "web copy that sells" that this a great idea as it helps the reader focus on your message and avoid distractions. I have just set up another wordpress page and I am looking for a plugin that allows me to do this, does anyone know of any plugins that will help me?
