Really stuck: My site gets 1,000 unique visitors/day but can't make single sale... please help

Awhile back I started promoting the Truth About Abs program by Mike Geary and I have had very little success. My traffic is large enough (about 1,000 unique visitors a day) but am directing only about 50-75 people over to the sales page and no one is buying. Below are the strategies I have (and are currently) using.

1. Personal testimony about Truth About Abs: ashotofadrenaline.net/how-to-get-a-rock-hard-body (I also have this page as a link on the top header so people can find it easily.)
2. My own advertisement (on side panel) directly to the TAA site: ashotofadrenaline.net/
3. Many in-text links directly to his sales page and over 30 links to articles. See this page as example: ashotofadrenaline.net/top-25-hardest-ab-exercises-ever-created
4. I also have a footer at the bottom of all of my posts (316) with links to the TAA sales page and an article I like. I know people click on these because I am tracking the hops.

I really feel stuck because I can't make any sales. Would any one be willing to provide feedback on where I may be going wrong?

Thanks,
Todd

Split test a few different sales pages....if you are only getting 50 - 75 people per 1,000 over to the sales page, then your site is not converting well at all.....you should get at least 20% over to the salespage.

Thanks Benjamin! Do you recommend a method of split testing?

Also Benjamin... do you have a strategy for getting 20% of visitors to a sales page?

      That sounds pretty impressive.

50-75 people going over to the site and not purchasing is a poor performance on his part as well in making the sale.

Maybe try promoting another product. Good products are important, but the sales page is just as important to look at as an affiliate.

I agree, and my guess is that the product is a ClickBank product. Some of those products only convert at 1:200 or even as bad as 1:500.

Maybe The Truth About Abs program by Mike Geary is not appealing enough, and more importantly, not for you. It's a shame really as your stats are good and you've obviously put a lot of effort into promoting it.

Having said that, there is an abundance of other good stuff out there to try, so don't be too despondent. If your short of ideas, feel free to PM me.

Have you considered asking your visitors what they would like to see?

          e.g.
          • Webinar from you
          • E-mail newsletter
          • Consulting
          • Ebook/report explaining your methods
          1,000 visitors/day is pretty impressive.

If you can build a list with that that could also help you. Offer a free series of tips direct from you. Word those tips something along the lines of, "I used x to achieve y, and if you read this product, you can take these tips further"

    What's your traffic source?

    - Organic
    - PPC
    - PPV
    - Direct banner buys

Truth About Abs converts for others so it should convert for you. That's why if I were you I'd look into what you are doing that could be the difference.

Are you collecting leads? (email addresses) if not you need to start right away.
Most people do not purchase the first time they see an ad.

PS. I love the way a lot of the others in here immediately jump all over the product without getting the answers to my questions above. Truth About Abs makes millions a year. It's a proven converter!

The main problem is that of the 1000 visitors a day, you get < 100 to click through to the offer. Pretty sure we can increase that CTR.

If all else fails you could just put Adsense ads up on the website until you figure out something better to do with it. With 1000 unique visitors per day, you should be able to get at least $500/month from Adsense ads alone.

You could also try plugging other products such as diet pills, energy drinks, multivitamins, etc from Amazon.com on your site and see if anyone buys.

Your site and your pictures look great. It's a shame that it is not converting.

You can try using black text on white background to make it much easier to read.

Use standard blue for your links. The link color that you are using now is just not obvious at all, and people can miss them easily.

You have to focus on getting more subscribers and build your list.

Most people need to be exposed to the products many times before they make the decision to purchase.

With a large list of subscribers you can also promote other fat loss products as well.

This is crucial for your long term IM success.

Don't build your business on just 1 product. It is very risky.

I am building my list. I'm getting about 10 new subscribers a day.

I am guessing general consensus is that that ratio is not that great either. Will have to work on making more of a convincing optin.

That's weird that you're getting that many people to the sales page but none are converting.

I can see why people would question 'The Truth About Abs' sales page and how well it converts. But from what I've read about it numerous times, It converts very well. So there's no reason why you shouldn't be making any sales if you're sending 50 - 75 people there a day.

So the real question is 'Why isn't the traffic you're sending interested in the product?'

Where are you getting your traffic from?

I would ask you your traffic source...'cos that determines why you are not being able to sell.

It depends on the demographic, age and occupation of the traffic you are getting.

What traffic source do you mostly get people from?

How are your copywriting skills? The way I would approach the subject is to presell the traffic before they even go over to the clickbank product. There are a few things that you honestly can do to help a poorly converting product on the producers end, but I try not to dwell on stuff that's outside of my control.

My advice would be to work on perfecting your copywriting skills and split test various sales copy on your site. If you have a high converting sales page, you'll be able to increase that that 50-75 per day click through rate do something much better. Plus the traffic will be much more inclined to purchase the item, even if the click back items sales page is much weaker than your own.

Think about it like this: what's in your realm of control?

    1. Site layout: is your site designed and organized to fulfill its primary purpose? which in my opinion is to get the traffic from point a to point B.
    2. Sales letter: is your sales letter well thought out, persuasive and full of links to the product it is selling?
    3. Traffic sources: is the traffic you're receiving well-qualified? because, let's be honest, if you're getting traffic based around a broad subject like "health", it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that it wouldn't convert all that well.

Hope that helps out my friend.

Also, if you need help improving your copywriting skills I have some free resources that I can give you links to :-)

This may seem extremely obvious, but if I were
sending someone 50-75 visitors per day, and getting
zero sales, the first thing I would do is this:

Make sure my affiliate link is correct, and tracking

ABS is a massive market . Could be saturated so it's worth starting another nice product and re-visting your "the truth about abs" website.

There's so many elements to this; are you just relying on keywords? if this is the case which ones are you optimized for? Personally speaking your tag "The truth about abs" doesn't appeal to me but "fastest least effort abs" would!!

    Keep tinkering!

Is your traffic targeted? Are they really interested with the product you are offering?

Those are questions you should answer before thinking on why you still don't have any sale despite the good amount of traffic you get. Get moving and try to offer some other product which might have better outcome than the first one you tried to advertise.

It doesn't seem you are promoting your youtube videos?

You should. I think you can also have less blogging.
What I would do is keep it shorter, focus more on making top notch content.

Then spend more time promoting that content rather than making more content.
Its good to have a lot of content, but it seems your rushing your content a bit
    then not properly promoting it.

Unless I'm wrong but where is your traffic coming from?

I would recommend you to concentrate solely on building a list and converting as many visitors as possible into subscribers.

So have multiple optins- optin form at the end of every post, in the side bar (which you have now but this kind of merges with the background, you want the optin forms to standout) and probably an exit popup.

Don't expect people to buy during their first visit, build a list and more importantly build a relationship with them and you will see better results.

Take a look at the video below to know more about conversions.

I would look at the type of traffic you are getting as you could be getting the wrong type of traffic. With this type of site, you want targeted ready to buy visitors. Less visitors can produce more sales when they are targeted correctly. Look at what type of buy now you need for the abs program and direct your traffic generation just to that group. Good luck.

First question you need to ask yourself "Where is the Traffic Coming From"

Cause I all time say that 10 target quality traffic is far better than just 100 traffic or even thousand traffic.

May be your traffic source is only browser and not buyers or not even looking to research on it.. so you have to back track everything where is your traffic coming from.. and see which traffic is targeted traffic..

And last thing I want to say that this niche is not the end of the world there are thousands of product on internet so just move on..never give up.. don't just judge online business with one niche..

    I hope this helps..

I'd really have to question the ' quality' of traffic that you're getting to your site in the first place.

That's a biggie...and could be one of the major contributing factors why you're not getting any sales.

Try this as a test too...

Remove the optin form from the ashotofadrenaline.net/ page and the 'free gift' page.

(Visitors are much more likely to download your free gift without having to give their email address FIRST)

Then take the PDF and embed the optin form inside the PDF itself.

How that works is when your visitor downloads and opens the PDF the first time, they are presented with your optin form.

If the visitor then wants to read your PDF, they first have to fill in the optin form.

When they do that the PDF will open so they can read it.

Perhaps the readers want to see more of what you have to offer. How are they coming to the site in the first place, most people need to visit the site more than once in order to make a solid decision to invest in something but you need to step it up an notch and make your site stand out.
They must only want to buy from you and after that the sales will just blow up! That is effective branding, a good marketing technique... Do you have interviews, videos and testimonial that convince them? Also you should have a mailing list for constant contact with them, the sales will grow but not every visitor will buy what you sell....Dunno Why!!!!!!!!

Nice website you have there Todd. With the amount of visitors you are getting I would focus everything on getting opt ins and remove all your direct affiliate links. This way you can split test affiliate offers with your list and add back end product recommendations.

You can even survey your list asking them what their biggest problem is, then either create a solution or link to someone else who covers that.

I have to admit that I now see the truth about abs sales page of poor quality compared to others, I mean the cartoonish header looks poor nowadays.
Same with the sales video in the popular style of drawing, it's cool but still not as well done as other similar ones.

But yes, it is the number one product on clickbank so it's converting, but also imagine how many impressions it must have since everybody on clickbank (me included) has been promoting this product at least tried at some point in time just to see if it was that easy to make sales..

You should try to search the marketplace with gravity at less than 100 you'll see some sales pages are much more well done and the commission is also 75%, so who knows, need to try since sales stats are not public.
