Would a forum like this be valuable?

Hey guys, I posted this on an IM forum I frequent more, got some positive response, but want to hear from more people first.

I have vBulletin license sitting around -
want to know if you guys would find a forum like this valuable:

A closed forum where all members submit their own high quality seo case studies/experiments.

Right now learning great seo without testing everything yourself isn't very efficient:
- There is lots of misinformation
- outdated techniques
- biased/ people hype their seo services
- the best techniques/findings don't get posted on public forums for everyone to spam to death

The forum would be:
- A closed forum: maxed out at around 100 members
- To join you first need to submit a good quality case study
- The idea is you can cut the BS and learn actual legit seo techniques
- Added value that this is a a closed group and not everyone in the IM field is going to start copying/spamming these findings

Sounds interesting. One primary question, are the case studies for free?

If so: what's the incentive to join? (Just to get other case studies/experiments?) The War Room does a good job of doing much of what you discussed with little hype; to get in you do have to post a free item. So kind of like a War Room for SEO?

If not, what's to keep it from being hyped? I say this because whenever someone's selling something, they usually hype it, because they have their own interests in mind.

Just a couple of questions that came to mind.

Really only one way to find out and that is to just do it. If you get enough people involved and you stick to your goals, I can see it becoming a success.

The idea is you can't pay to join - instead you have to submit a high quality case study -then you get to view 100s of other high quality case studies.

It's not for people to hype a seo service they sell, instead members test seo principles.

For example: buy 2 domains to test if a linking method is more successful than another - and show step by step what they did.

I think it could work out as long as you have an airtight vetting process that ensures that crap members and fake SEO "experts" won't be sneaking in.

So by saying its a closed group / thats more akin to a circle jerk ? you would hardly class it as a forum / more like your using a forum platform for a private group.

What happens if potential member 101 rocks up who has new fresh ideas that are better than what you have on the table, they do not get in the door ?

    Interesting idea
Make sure you choose the best 100 people for the forum. After some time, you will learn Gs aalgorithm and make great SEO.
I think this is great idea, if you are able to realize it well.
