    Hey Nico,

Thanks for posting this thought. This is something all of us must keep in mind. It does not really add any value to anybody when you start a relationship expecting returns from day one. The aim should be at building and nurturing the relationship, showing the person on the other side that you care for them and are a friend who keeps their best interests in mind. As far as growing your business is concerned it will be taken care of if you focus on delivering value and everything else will follow. This is not limited to JV partners only, it holds true for your customers and subscribers as well. You take care of them they will take good care of your business.

    Cheers

Agree, but getting in touch and build a relation with them isn't always as easy as it sounds - especially with the big boys

If you're starting out small, you could also partner up with someone who already has the network in place

Although I totally agree with your comments so far I have always found that becoming a customer first will always open the door a little. Most marketers will interact with their customers before they'll take any notice of potential JV partners.

Customers are valuable so use that status to start a dialogue with your target JV partner. Anyone who ignores their customers doesn't deserve any:-)

I landed my first JV simply by attending live events and talking to those there. I landed my second JV by being in a gurus coaching group. They couldn't really ignore me then:-)

There are two main ways of attracting affiliates. The first is to network your arse off. This may include sucking up to target affiliates by doing something for them, before asking that they do something for you. The second is to hire an affiliate manager. This is somebody that has already laid the groundwork and has relationships with a number of affiliates. Also, you could get a number of affiliates that will latch onto your product if they see good numbers (conversions, EPC) in one of the affiliate network sites.

There's a thin line with this one that can easily be crossed.. you wouldn't believe how many 'Hey bought your product, great stuff!, now promote my ****' emails some marketers have stacked up.

If you want to attract affiliates...

    Have a sexy sales page.

A product with a generous commission, backend funnel, and positive testimonials which drive sales.

Make the affiliate/JV partner money first... then you can go for the 'reach around'.

Tools... swipes, bonuses they can use to give subscribers, etc...

Affiliates come to you when you have things setup properly.

It also doesn't hurt to get people drunk at live events...

      Exactly right...

The trick to getting the big boys in
the niche on board are usually by
      either building a relationship with
      them yourself, or getting someone
else who already has a relationship
to introduce you. That's what jv
      brokers can do.

      Sincerely,

Yes that's why you should have a dedicated affiliate page for every product you sell. You need to provide everything your affiliats need.

The big man people have already taken platform in their hands in the early stage but building relationship with them is a time consuming and lots of effort. First we need to prove them how good we are than only they will believe and build the trust with us.

I never jumped into this JV concept of promoting list, and some people do also say that you promote mine, I will promote yours so this thing does not goes to my head..

Any way thanks for raising this topic, learned something for it in-case if I do any JV stuff with people
