My first flippa website sale

Ive just listed my first site on flippa.

I'll keep warriors up to date on how it does and how I found the whole process.

Has anyone had success selling websites on flippa?

Where does the profit lay in selling sites?

These questions cannot be answered without more detail. There is certainly profits out there to be made by selling websites or flipping them, however.

Ok, maybe I could have been clearer.

Has anyone had success building websites to sell for a profit?

Or does the profit simply lay in selling aged/established websites?

Yes, there is a lot of people that has had success with building and selling websites. Some people look for low profit, and others look for higher profit... If your site doesn't have traffic and sales you may be able to sell it for a low profit, which can sometimes break you even on Flippa. If you have sales and steady traffic, then you can get hundreds to thousands.

How did you determine the value of your site? Number of visits...age of site...Google ranking, et al?

I've never seen the attraction of flipping websites because the number of hours needed to build/improve a site divided by the price I sell it for means I'm only making about minimum wage (or less!) - and that's not counting building traffic to the site. If you can make it worth your while, great for you. Maybe I'm missing something? What are other people's experiences with flipping sites?

I tried to sell a couple of MFA sites 2 months back on Flippa, it was an epic fail.

However I do suggest that you look at the listing that have already sold for research purposes. Pay attention to what the successful listings have in common in terms of the information they have provided.

it depends on what you are doing, but you can definitely make money. Buyers tend to look at revenue and traffic. Price is usually monthly revenue X 10-12.

it's really all about quality. there are tons of low-quality sites not selling on flippa. don't add to that nonsense. Sell sites that have potential and are earning a decent revenue or have decent traffic stats.

You need to sell once you have at least 3 months of stats and/or revenue.

Flippa's fee changes have made it difficult for two categories of seller's, those who sell spam or those that sell brand new sites. Neither tend to make much money so your end profit isn't very high. Typically those buying on flippa are looking for two things age and traffic, profit also helps increase the overall sale price. Good luck on your auction, I wish you the best!

If you can show earnings proof that will help in the sale.
The more earnings and the longer earning time frame, the more the website will be valued.

If you can show both you could receive 10 - 30 times monthly earnings.
