Well, now we know what you should do with the first $37: Get a War Room membership and full site functionality. :-)

And to back up what the others have said, I'm extremely scared for a newbie that has the budget before the skill. You can burn through that in no time and have not much to show for it. Spend the time learning, get the skills, then jump into the PPC game.

And while you are still learning, I'll gladly give you $.50 for every dollar in your budget. That's probably a much better return than what you would get from jumping in without finely honed skills and lots of testing. PM me for my PayPal address. ;-)

      /Clark

Stop wasting your money. Put it in your savings account. If you are going to try PPC, you sure can easily burn those $1000's. Why waste your money when there are tonnes of free methods on the internet ? Search the forum for free methods to drive traffic. I can suggest some free ones...

Try them out and you'll find more ways...

I disagree with this post, wholeheartedly.

Free traffic methods are for people that don't have any money in their budget. Paid traffic is for people that do.

PPC traffic is FAST. It allows you to split test different landing pages, without having to wait weeks or months for results. It lets you test pricing elasticity quickly too.

My only suggestion is to allow a professional PPC management firm handle your campaigns if you do not have the experience. They will get you better click rates and be able to optimize campaigns better than a newbie would.

        Hi

I'm agree with Spencer Jones, why you wanna throw away your money like this?

My advice is to stay committed to the free resources, like facebook (great for getting traffic) link building, etc. . It will take a little longer but you will not throw your money.
        Epic fail times two.

PPC is good but if you are a newbie BEWARE.

SEO is another strategy to give a shot if you have the time to wait, maybe 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 months depending on the competition. In this case, you will need to do SEO yourself or hire a professional to do the job for you.

Free Traffic is NOT free folks...

      1) so called free traffic takes your time away from other things (Time is money)

      2) Look how many "Free Traffic" tools there are. You buy that and your traffic is no longer free. You spent money on the tools. And now you have to spend your time working with these tools.

Paid Traffic gets you to success faster.

      TWO EXAMPLES:

Let's say you do your keyword due diligence and if you go the free way it will take months to discover if you are on the right track or not.

With paid traffic you can whittle down your keyword list and extract the winners within a week max.

With Google changing the game constantly it only makes sense to use paid traffic. However you need to know the basics so that's why I recommended Traffic Black Book.

PS. When you think a person is throwing money away because they spend money on traffic makes me think two things. 1) You have very limited thinking and do not see the bigger picture. 2) You have tried paid traffic and lost your shirt.

Either way you still need to LEARN how to buy traffic properly and objectively. It's a business after all.

$1,000 a week is a pretty solid budget.

I would definitely go with paid media traffic i.e. banner ads, newsletter ads.

If you don't know what that is, PM because I don't know if I will ever see this thread again lol but I'd be more than happy to help how I can

Solo ads and build a list at the same time!

Even if it costs you $1 per subscriber. Thats 1000 subs after a week, 4000 after a month, then you can 'touch base' with your crowd again and again without all the hard work of free traffic or the stress of ppc!

    Hey Adam,

It really just depends on what you are trying to promote. I've been doing PPC for years now, and it works well but it does take time to refine/optimize to learn what works (and what doesn't). Feel free to PM me with specific questions you may have, and I'll do my absolute best to help you out. PPC is definitely one of the best ways to quickly learn what works and what doesn't, and also provide high quality traffic to whoever you're trying to promote.

How the heck are you going to split test an empower network page?

You should be setting up you own landing pages and split test them using Google Website Optimizer (or similar), split testing is vital to paid traffic and not all landing pages will perform the same for various traffic source/keywords.

I'm guessing you want to build a list in IM niche based on the fact that you said empower network so I'd like to point out that solo ads are a great traffic source but an empower network squeeze page won't convert as well, since many have already seen these squeeze pages ...some solo sellers refuse to sell you solos for them.

Note: I don't mean to hate on Empower network, I have nothing against it and I know very little about it.

    Hope this helps you out!

I would spend it on soloads, just search that in the forum if you are not sure what it is. Look for somone who has a nice sized mailing list in your targeted niche and pay them to send targeted clicks your way and as with all things track and keep tracking till you get the results you want.

$1,000 a week to burn is A LOT. That equals to $52,000 a year. If you can afford to burn $52,000 a year there might be better investments than IM.

Did it ever occur to you that his $1,000 a week may be the portion of his revenue he is willing to reinvest into advertising? If that is the case, then hopefully he will be scaling up as he spends it. By the end of the year, he may be spending $52,000 a week on traffic.

When I was running PPC for physical products, I would spend $1000 a day on traffic. It usually converted to about $1500 a day in net revenue. Tell me where I would have seen better returns. I'd love to know.
