About 3 weeks ago I read a post in here from someone talking about the marketing mindset and the fact that we should STOP SELLING but focus more on helping our site visitors by providing solutions ... quite subtle but I got it Anyway whoever it was A BIG THANK YOU I have changed a couple of my sites to reflect this ... and it has really worked for me. My list sign ups and sales from the sites involved improved immediately. John |

It's so true. My motto is not to sell people but to help them make an informed buying decision. ![]() Congrats on your improvements. |

I always thought that was a core aspect of proper salesmanship. Perhaps my many years of sales training was wrong? All this time I could have been just selling products that I don't trust just to sell them. Man did I miss that boat. Sarcasm aside. I will not sell products for the sake of selling them. I always try to offer my customers quality products that I believe in. I know I am an Idealist right. But I am also a realist in that regardless of how shiny new a product is, if you sell it to someone, if it does not solve their problem, it will be the last time you sell it to that customer. |

Language and words where my main changes. Obsidians irony is especially relevant to me actually as I know this stuff offline and have plenty of face to face selling time where I would use this mindset. Guess my overall change is just getting the same mindset for my online business. Sometimes the obvious still needs to be understood ![]() John |

I am glad that it is working for you. I know that I will only recommend products that I am using or have used myself.
