What if you had to start over with $100.

I was wondering if the experienced affiliate marketers can indulge a new member to the group. If you had to start over and you only had $100, what
would you do to get back on top?

Thanks!

I couldn't agree more with the "in a niche I enjoy". Even if you have a limited budget, if you don't like what you're doing, you'll probably move on to something else and waste that money anyway. One of the biggest keys to being successful with IM is actually enjoying what you're doing. Hard to write articles every day about something you don't care about. Plus, people can tell when somebody is passionate about something, and that's especially apparent in somebody's writing. And trust me...it'll make them want to read even more of your articles over time.

Exactly.one of the worst things newbies can do is get into a niche that they can't stand JUST for the money.focus on solving people's needs and the money will come.

I would go and pick up the book "the $100 start up" and read it from cover to cover then emulate some of the business practices that are directly related to what my ideas may be.

I too would buy a domain name and hosting.

It takes a lot of research and time (at least it does for me) to find a valuable keyword. But I don't pay anyone to do it and you don't have to either.

Hosting doesn't cost much, neither does the domain.

If you can't or don't want to write your own content, you can get it pretty cheap and just rewrite it to fit your style.

You can monetize the site with Adsense or simply find a Clickbank or Amazon product to sell.

You can do all this for a lot less than $100 if you're willing to spend the time.

Here's a basic plan of action I'd do:

    1. Buy domain and hosting (~$20)

    2. Register Autoresponder ($1 first month)

    3. Get a free squeeze page, "Thank you" page and "Download" page or create simple ones myself

    4. Choose a niche and create a short report on topic I will be giving as a gift on my squeeze page

    5. Create new list and opt-in form in autoresponder and connect opt-in form to the squeeze page

    6. Write squeeze page copy based on the report

    7. Go to ClickBank and find several good products in my niche I could promote

    8. Set one product as OTO on "Thank you" page, write email copy for the rest and enter them into autoresponder sequence

    9. With ~$80 left, buy solo ad for about 200-250 clicks

    10. Drive more traffic with whatever free methods and use any ClickBank earnings to buy more traffic

This is vastly simplified and not perfect but it works. Also, it's worth mentioning that actually
doing it is something completely different. Having a good plan is great, but when you start
implementing it you encounter thousand problems that didn't exist on paper. You have to learn on
the fly and adjust accordingly. There's no better way of learning something than actually doing it.

    Best of luck,

OTO stands for "One Time Offer" - in this context it is usually a low-priced product you offer on your
"Thank you" page after someone has opted-in. It's not mandatory but it helps to make some money
      immediately on the front end.

Also, OTO is used as an upsell after buying a product, you are offered a related product to buy.

$100 is still more.. I started my business with blogger, that means FREE, I have build a blog and start writing content on that site.. than when I learn how the visitors are coming to my site than I understood what to do next..

So you have $100, that's great now you need to plan where you need to spend this money and invest money in proper way.

Buying Domain and Hosting is a compulsory without this you can't do any thing.

Buying domain will cost $10 in godday, you can use this promo code "emma3" to reduce to your price on domain.

And than $10 per month for hosting or may be less than that cause many company are there who are providing $1 per month hosting but be careful while choosing a quality hosting company..

And than next task is writing content which you need learn yourself first than hire it...than continue writing content and see from where the visitor is coming from..

    I hope this helps you..

Buy hosting and a domain. The domain would be generic so that it could be used for many different products promoted in subdomains or subdirectories. The products would be physical products, such as an Amazon.

The truth is there is very little I could do with that unless all the other expenses where covered, that wouldn't even be enough for my weekly shopping lol. I don't care what anyone says, business needs a little more than that.

What others are saying here is easier said than done, period!

I'd buy hosting, a domain, a subscription to GetResponse or Aweber and start writing articles for syndication to attract the targeted traffic to build lists, to promote a couple of good ClickBank products in the same niche.

      $100 is plenty.

Not only did I start for less than $100, but there wasn't ever a point at which spending more than that would have made my income either any faster or any higher.

Most of the information I'd need is right here, in these 5 posts ...

Two things I wouldn't do: off-page SEO (other than perhaps slightly, for writing the article titles), and using squeeze pages.

But would you still write about culiflowers!

On another --- more serious note, if you were to do what you suggest above, and assuming you did NOT have your current syndicatioin network in place, how long do you feel it would take you to start making 1,000 BPS a month at say one quality article a day?

PS: Don't forget the question about the culiflowers

When I started the method above (which wasn't when I first started affiliate marketing: the first time I had no idea what I was doing at all, didn't understand how article directories worked, used SEO, promoted high gravity products with vendors' opt-ins on their sales pages, "wrote for clicks", tried to get traffic from article directories, made every other misguided mistake you can possibly make, and earned nothing) I earned about $3,000 - or a little more - in my third month (and actually earned something "promising" in my second month, can't remember the figure now). I had admittedly had something of a learning-curve experience for about 3 months before that, though, while getting everything totally wrong, and knew all the stuff about article marketing that didn't work (and had some idea why). So in the "knowledge" sense, you could say I wasn't a real noob ... (and that was working 25 - 30 hours per week).

I love the ideas people are coming up with. Selling affiliate products with less then $100. You could literally come up with a million different ideas on this.

Here's one. Let's say you wanted to come up with more then $100. You could place an ad on craigslist or at local real estate offices saying you need an investment partner.

Explain to your investment partner of how you are going to double the investor's money back. All you need is about $1000 to $2000.

I would explain that there is no guarantee for return but I will be 100% transparent so he or she can see exactly what I'm doing.

Now your investment partner is funding the necessary money you need to promote an affiliate product.

From there I would find a product I like on Clickbank and test it first before getting an autoresponder. If I'm breaking even in ppc or making money, then I would start collecting a list. I would repeat the results for more income.

Even if I'm losing a little I could tweak a few things to see if I could make more money from it.

You could start out with no money. Affiliate programs are free to join. It's free to join forums and write articles to generate traffic. You could build a website or blog and write articles to drive traffic. You can also forum post to drive traffic. Once you are making income from this you can repeat or hire others to do the same with a link to your site in the signature.

I'd be careful of spending the $100. Most businesses fail because they don't have enough capital. I would make sure I had plenty of capital to cover up for the "bumps" you'll enconter on the way.

Exel has a good plan. The way I do it is I create a content focused site, and then start building my list after I get consistent free traffic from the search engines, and social media.

The key is to build killer content which is quite easy to do. When you start getting 50 unique visitors a day, or maybe 40 then put up your lead capture form in the side bar, and test a pop up. Also build a separate lead capture page on that site and link to it from you top pages. After you start making a few bucks re-invest in PPC, best go small at first until you get good at it. There are many PPC search engines out there. Google being top dog, but they are not the only game in town.

That's the program I've followed for years.

I have also had and do have lead capture sites but they don't rank because there's not much content on them. Search engines like content and therefore reward you with free traffic. That's my take on it.

I would first try to learn a little about what I would do before actually trying anything. One thing more valuable than money is time and I would not want to spend too much time. I know your question was If someone who had already been successful had to do it again. However I'm going to show you a different way to look at the problem.
Any one of us who have had success could give you the "in a nutshell" explanation of how we would do with $100 to be headed back toward success but than most likely wouldn't work for you.

While I am a solid believer in "what one man can do another can too" this doesn't mean that right out of the gate you would probably be able to replicate the outcome of an experience marketer.

While many things are fairly straight forward everything you do even when you have some experience under your belt needs a certain amount of nudging, finessing and elbow greases not to mention experiential knowledge and a smidgin of intuition.

I highly recommend checking out Chris Farrell He is a great teacher of IM especially for the novice. I think you can get started with him for just a few bucks and that would be money well spent in the direction of making more out of the $100 you've got

If you don't know what you are doing at all I would go through this forum like no one's business as thorough as possible and find case studies you think you can imitate that go to your strengths.

I don't like the idea of buying solo ads unless you know what you are doing. You're best find free case studies, and studying on here.

If all you have is $100 you're biggest commodity will be your mind. Don't just spend it because you can, you save it, study, plan and make up a game plan you plan on doing in 7 days. In 7 days take action and plan intelligently.
