Why Would A Fellow Warrior Get His Posts Removed???

Hello ,
I am writing to ask my fellow warriors why would a post get removed. Early today I created a post helping another fellow warrior. I simply spoke highly of his product , how much of a resource he has been to all of us here on the forum and pointing out the fact he was offering his product on the WSO forum for a very substantial price break. Later in the day I go to check to see what interest the post has created and was disappointed to see it was removed. I could understand if I was a new member and all I was doing was to earn a profit from affiliate commissions using my link etc. I have been a part of this wonderful organization for a few years now and currently have over 400 posts. Also , I want to point out I was doing this as a favor and I was not getting a dime , commission from any of the product that may have sold from people going to his WSO link and ordering his product. Can someone please explain to me why my post was removed when in fact I was helping a fellow warrior?

Thank you ,
Jason

You should not have been surprised to see it removed. I didn't see the post but WSO sellers are not allowed to post an ad for their product except by using their signature and in the WSO itself - and their friends can't do it either.

You mention you did it as a "favor" - I hope you aren't saying you were asked to do it. If you have something good to say about a WSO, post it in the WSO thread.

Davion- You need to read the "stickies" - members are moderators. Posts are removed if they violate forum rules (some rules written, some are unwritten and you learn as you go along).
    Explanations are not required.

      Jason,

Think about why someone might report that one... If we start pointing out the WSOs we like, the whole main forum will be overrun with "I love Joe Schlabotnik's WSO" posts. Many real, most not.

It would be worse than spam, since so many people would argue that it's okay.

Kay , thank you for the feedback. I was only doing it to help and did not realize I was in the wrong. No I absolutely was not asked to do it. I was doing it on my own good will. James has done so much for me as well as other warriors and I wanted to share with everyone how great of a product he had and how it could benefit many. I did not realize starting a new post was not the correct thing to do. Thank you again for your feedback.

    Thank you ,

      Jason -

It was nice of you to want to tell people about it - but posting a good report in the WSO thread will go a long way, too. Glad to hear you did it of your own initiative - it was a good thought.

    Hi, Jason,

What you posted was a massive, full blown ad with, I'm guessing 400+ words. I know it was something like so many 'so-called' review sites and the product was certainly a valuable one with a massive discount.

I don't know how else to do it but maybe you should have simply asked if people were familiar with the offer but, I suspect, that too would be against ToS.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

There is a thread category specifically for product reviews. If you post in there and aren't trying to "sell" the product, only giving your honest opinion of it, it should be fine. Just post in that category next time maybe.
