I have now been receiving chargebacks by some of my previous buyers. It sucks for my part because I gave them the product that they wanted and they now claim that the product they have bought from me are suckish and that they don't work. Does anyone here hate them as much as I do?

Yep...i figured out a good % of them relaized they can simply say "not as advertised" and they got the product for free....Just another online scam.

    Not in all cases though.

There's a term for this kind of thing: It's called "being a business owner."

Your goal with every product that you personally make is to provide something that will satisfy the vast majority of people who purchase it. I don't care what you offer; you are going to have refunds. You are going to have people abuse the system.

Just make sure that you sell enough so that your losses are small compared to your profits.

Well there are a couple things you can do:

1 - Make a better product. If you are getting multiple people telling you your product sucks that alone should raise a red flag.

2 - Ask them for more specifics as to why and what they really didn't like so you can fix it.

3 - Have a pre checkout screen where they agree to the terms and aknowledge this is something they want to buy.

4 - put this on your site or pre checkout page:

    Chargebacks and Fraudulent Transactions:

All IP addresses are logged for fraud prevention and investigation. [219.74.59.335] (get a script that pulls their IP)

All chargebacks are thoroughly investigated and may add you to a blacklist with our processor which will complicate future online purchases. Denying a purchase that you have made is illegal and will result in an investigation which can lead to heavy fines or other legal action toward you. Your credit rating can be affected by fraudulent claims. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us to clarify the matter.

If you do that last one many "casual" chargebackers might think twice.

People will chargeback even if it was the best product on the planet. If they want it for free, they will do anything to get it.

Then use the same logic that people use for pirates - they werent going to buy it anyway so move on.

Also note I said "casual" chargebackersn and I said if you have "multiple" people saying the product is bad maybe it's time to reevaluate your products quality or pricepoint...

I don't buy from companies with stern warnings like that. The tone shows that they are not a customer-friendly operation. Honest people don't like being treated like criminals.
