    Hi

    2 ways to do that:

    1. get a theme that allows you do change the header from the options panel (eg. flexibility)

    OR

    2. go to design / themes / theme editor and edit the header.php file.

Let me know if it worked

Hi,Thanks for your reply. When you say edit the header.php file how do you do that? Can I just drop another header in that file? Also how do you know if a theme allows you to change the header? Any recommendations? Nick

Just upload your new header to the images file of your theme. You can give it the same name or you can make a more SEO suitable name for the graphic file. Remember no spaces in graphics.

Then go to your css file in you blog and make any adjustments.

    Nick..

Currently I'm using flexibility2 (it has many options as for design, colors and pictures).

How do you know? I just check`em out

Drop another header file? hmm.. not sure. It has to meet WP requirements (eg. keep the css code intact, meta stuff, etc etc).

When you asked about header I thought you want to put some banner/picture there.

    Is that what you mean?

As a WP Blogger myself, this is my advice: Outsource it to someone else to do it if you're not adept in PHP programming. A single misplaced code will screw up your entire site appearance.

Thanks for your reply. Any ideas on where to go to outsource? How much would I expect to pay? Nick

I second the outsourcing if you do not know HTML,CSS and PHP

But If you want to learn to do it yourself it is not that hard if you are willing to put in the time. It also depends on what you want to do with the header too.

I've "played" with changing the Header on my blogs, with success. But like the others say, you have to make sure you "code" it properly.

I once forgot to change the name of the original header before I renamed my new file, and boy, the problems that occurred. I had to reload the theme again!

Do you want to change the header, or just the header image? Depending on which theme you are using, you might be able to upload a new image using your ftp software.

Connect to your site with the ftp software, navigate to your themes folder and then open up the theme you are using and see if you can find an images file. If you can, and you can work out which one is the header, you can rename the header image and then upload your new image (giving it the original header image name).

If it makes a mess of the site, simply remove the new image you uploaded and change the original header image back to its old name.
