Phplist alternative with autoresponder feature

I think this is an old question.

Phplist is a great script but it does not support autoresponder feature, i.e. automatically send out a pre-defined sequence of emails after a user subscribed.

Any open source alternative can act both as a email broadcaster and autoresponder?

    If you are on wordpress, you can consider using WP Autoresponder - Follow-up Autoresponder and Newsletter Plugin for WordPress. The deliverability will not be good as awber and other email marketing software.

    It's PHP-based and free.

    Just be careful, self-hosted autoresponder can give you a lot of technical headache. If I were you, I'd spend my time on marketing than the autoresponder hassle. but btw, good luck

    Although not free/open source, in the long-run I'd recommend Interspire or ActiveCampaign. These are paid, self-hosted solutions that are very powerful. Learning curve is not bad for either one of them.
