FB Fan Page - New Hot Look...

Warriors,

I have a question: Where did all the cool FB Fan pages go? Is there anyway
to do landing pages, optin pages, or capture the visitors anymore? FBML is gone right?

I cannot seem to find any cool examples anymore out there to model after.

I think we would all be interested to hear if anyone has a a good handle on this new FB look and their new features yet.

    Ever since Facebook changed its overall layout, most of the cool looking examples of Facebook fan pages have gone with it. I'm sure there are still some highly converting Facebook fan pages out there, but you have to spend a considerable amount of time looking for them and while I'm not the most knowledgeable person on the subject, I think you're going to have to look for specific examples were people say "I got X many visitors and Y persent of conversions from my Facebook fan page". That way you can not only model the sales copy that is listed but also the overall format that the page is in.

    Hi Warrior2008,

    You are right...Facebook is currently its own worst enemy by making significant changes...quietly! No wonder their share price sank...

    The Divas to look up on this area are Maria Gudelis and Tina Williams. I believe they have an offer on at the moment clearing up the latest 'improvement'. They are superb!

    I used to rely greatly on the cool looking pages Facebook had. But ever since the update released, I had to switch to other methods to attract visitors to my pages. The thing is to adapt with time. Though I too believe that FB are making a mockery of themselves.

      Wow! I imagine they are all REAL members too. I see that the viral effect and control of the members will be much harder now.

    I'd recommed a service called "Short Stack" (Google it).

    ...it has several drad and drop features that look great in the timeline.

    I'm actually doing better with FB's new Timeline layout.

    The funny thing is that this ugly looking tab, is getting better opt-in conversions than one I made that I liked better.

        They have a really cool technique to get around the landing tab issue. If you don't know how to manipulate creating squeeze pages, adding like buttons, and getting a redirection after a like (can be done with javascript) you'll want to grab the OTO.

    You can still get that cool page thing going by using iFrames (embedding your landing page inside FB) and setting the tab as the default landing tab.
    Plus, you even get the option to show one page to non-fans, and another to fans - so you can drive "likes" to reveal the content.

    The secret to this is a FREE FB app called Static HTML - just Google it and you'll be on your way.

    I just make pages in dreamweaver then paste the code into the static html iframe app. Think you can also make an iframe inside that as well to pull in a blog etc... Then you use the app URL for your landing page for links to it. Like I send a bunch of paid traffic to some of them.

    That app will allow you to make content that appears before they do a "like" and content after they are fans. So you can have to separate looks. But you can make it pretty cool looking and pretty much full size.

    There is no landing pages anymore with the new timeline style but you can have an opt-in page (plenty of videos on youtube or ask Jo Barnes at Fb dot com/socialnetworkingacademy.

    Or use woobox custom tab app to connect with your opt-in page
