I'm thinking about outsourcing eBook creation, sales copy writing, minisite building and promotion/traffic generation.

I've heard a lot about using cheap but skilled people in the Phillipines and wonder if my fellow warriors have tried this.

Has anyone tried replacemyself.com from Jon Jonas?

I am doing this at present and so far so good. I will advise you to carefully screen who you will hire though. Though some people in the Philippines are good with the tasks you mentioned, some are not. If you want quality work, settle for those providers whose rates are average and not that cheap. If you want substandard work, settle for cheaper rates.

    Hi There

You can have a lot problems outsourcing all that, its going to hit and miss so try loads of places, once you find someone that's good hang onto them. Also be prepared to spend money while your looking around.

I always think that quality attracts traffic and will make you more money in the long run so I use ecoverfrog or designguru ryan for graphics / the minisite.

I can recommend using Kyle Tully for copywritting as I used him and he was great.

I usually do my own products or get an expert face to face to do them with me so i can't recommend anyone there.

    Hope that helps

You mention outsourcing promotion/traffic generation. The problem with outsourcing this is you usually have to spend time training the workers on how to promote your site.

I'm actually launching a service tomorrow (Thursday) which has teams of trained traffic generation specialists which will promote your site for you.

However, due to the labor hours involved, we can only accept 300 clients tomorrow...

Also, any answers to Stuart's original question?...

I hired a woman in Philippines for content writing. I am quite happy with her work. You can find people in bestjobs.ph site - post an ad there (it's free, just make sure that you write correct company/personal info or they will ban you).

the main question should be how much are you willing to spend. Money most times will determine your quality. Please don't believe cheap will get you excellent quality.

I have used Replacemyself by John Jonas. I think it is pretty good. Pricey, but good. The access to the 2 job sites is great. His training and stuff is pretty good. I don't know that it is 'required', or that it is the cheapest, but the customer service is good and the trainings are not bad. I paid for the lifetime access and am glad to have it at my disposal when looking for new employees. Do screen extensively though and be willing to pay a bit more for experience and skill.

  • I believe ReplaceMyself.Com among other outsourcing resource centers talk about directly hiring people working at
    home via telecommuting job posts...

As the proprietor, business development and marketing strategist of a 5-year old ICT (Information & Communications Technology) outsourcing firm
    here in Manila:

Many Filipinos are still skeptical and reluctant to work with companies, businesses, home businesses and
individual Internet marketers without official local business presence...

This is one of the main reasons why a lot of direct applicants need to be initially trained and handheld for a few months:
Trained people with relevant experience and knowledge prefer to work with officially registered local companies and businesses...

      Hi Stuart;

I have tried replacemyself.com from Jon Jonas. I found one good employee and I found one who asked for a sum for pay then at the last minute wanted more. After she took tow days to reply. So I think it's just a place to find possible staff the rest is up to you. I did not try his paid service where he says he will find you an employee

You have to develop a way to make sure that you hire someone with the right skill set, but also you have to plan to spend time training. In the end it's far better to get someone that's trainable as you can teach them to do a wide variety of stuff. Beware that sometimes they tell they have a high speed computer connection and they don't. If they don't it might be worth you paying for it does not cost much.

Oh Stuart also keep in mind that whenever you hire someone from the Philippines you run the risk of problems. So be prepared though for problems, because even with all the due diligence you can still run into a problem employee. I hired a girl that was doing great work. One day she told me "I don't want to let you down as my employer since you've been so good to me." The next day she told me she would have an update by that evening then I never heard from her again. Just keep in mind that it's not bump free managing staff at anytime, and it for sure is not easy to manage someone so far away that you have not even met. But it is worth the trying.

A lot of people are having success outsourcing to the Philippines. Based on what I've experienced, Filipinos have very good work ethic and are hard working, decent and moral people.

You will have great results if you create decent instructions and manage the process.

Here are lists of reliable sites where you can find Filipino virtual workers:

    Onlinejobs.ph
    Craiglist.com
    easyoutsource.com

You can posts your hiring ad there for FREE.
