I made several squidoo lenses in several topics to make sure that it's not just an accident. My problem is: I made my lenses, have several links pointing to them, have social bookmarked them and have pinged them right after their creation but nothing happens since weeks! My lenses just don't get indexed (but I get some traffic from the social bookmarks), so I think I'll stay at the good old article marketing. How many time does it normally take for a lens to get indexed (approximately of course)? What else can I do for my poor lenses? Thanks for your help! |

I find hub pages works better than squidoo for getting indexed quickly... and I have had better rankings from hub pages as well. -Jason |

Lenses usually get indexed pretty fast, especially if you pick good tags, get backlinks from blogs + social sites and ping it. How are you checking the Google index? You need to search for site:squidoo.com/your-lens . |

I get both squidoo lenses and hub pages indexed in a few hours. PM me for a short yet powerful $5.00 report on how to do it.

2 or 3 days that's really slow. Maybe too many people have been abusing the system, and google doesn't like squidoo as much as before

also, you say you are pinging them and social bookmarking them right after creation...this is definitely a red flag for Google. if you ping and SB, etc right after creating any site, Google's gonna pick up on that and flag your site before it's even indexed. | |

My lenses get indexed real quick too (sometimes same day). However, the traffic really comes in when the site is being promoted throughout Squidoo itself. Haven't had much success with Hub Pages yet, but my content on those pages is low compared to my Squidoo lenses. |

hi, it takes time like everything else but google will pick this up as long as you use really good tags & update the content of it ona regular basis. |

I recently had this happen to a new account that I had opened so I tested it. I created two new lenses on my regular squidoo account and two on a new account I created. I did no promotion other than linking from other lenses. From the lenses from my regular account, one of them was indexed in just one day, and the other within 3 days. It took nearly two weeks for the lenses from my new account to appear in the SERPS. Take of that what you will. Tracey |

Hello, I have several Squidoo lenses and I socially bookmark them to most of the do follow social sites, I create back links from article directories... back link them from WordPress blogs, blogger blogs, even from craigslist. So I have created enough back links to optimize them. I just find that Google does not love Squidoo anymore or at least not as much. I have had more success with hub pages and even simple blogger blogs (posts on their site) and WordPress blogs (posted on their site as well). Originally those two sites were for creating back links but when I saw that they were getting optimized for keywords I've begun using them more. Google at best is a fickle lover. So I don't spend as much time creating Squidoo lenses as I used too. One or two modules and that's it. I don't spend a lot of time optimizing them. If there is a "secret" to having them ranking highly let me know... oh and by the way I have even back linked them from youtube. The video gets ranked high but the lenses still trudges along. Regarding indexing... ping the lenses... post a link to it from blogger and wordpress and any other high ranked website and you will be indexed much faster. Just my opinion, Mad Money |

I am going to echo what some have stated in this post. It definitely helps if you are creating an additional lens that from an account that is already established. If you create a new lens, then it will take a little longer. You should look into joining some of the groups in the squidoo community itself as well as posting responses on squidoo members lenses. Don't go crazy with ping services after you create them. Some people get carried away and want to get it pinged through out the day, a few times is enough. As mentioned earlier, try and get long tail phrases that have a lower competition using the google keyword tool (4-6 words) Also scroll down to the bottom and use their related keywords list to see additional terms. Hope that helps Jose |

I find that if you are targeting long tailed keywords that if I immediately digg my post, my digg will show up within hours. Again, without repeating what others have said it is important to know how competitive the keywords are before you target them. You can save yourself some time.

Ping the site and have a few articles to go. Submit the rss feed to an agregator. Also make sure your link in on pages with PR I usually place my new lens link on my group front page that is PR 5. I created the group specifically for that and creating mini hubs. Using these tactics usually indexed in 2 hours to 3 days. |
