Do Amazon Product Reviews Earn Money

I have a few niche Amazon WP sites containing product reviews. I've been told that niche sites work best. Some sites have non-YouTube video reviews and others don't. I was wondering if it's best to use non-YouTube product review videos and do they really pull in sales.

A lot of sites I visited use Amazon's reviews and comments that are pasted in their review section, but does that really work? Should I write my own reviews and show a product video?

So the real question is: Do Amazon product review sites earn money? If so what makes them rank in the search engines. I never use PPC. When I search for a niche all I see is a ton of competition.

Of course they do. I do very, very well as an Amazon affiliate and review sites are all I do. However, I do things a bit differently than what many so-called "gurus" will tell you. I target low-competition products and have very little problem getting my reviews indexed and ranked with nothing more than social bookmarking.

Just make sure you provide your own content. Scraping Amazon content provides a poor user experience and is not a good long-term business model.

Ever consider making videos about the product, then linking to your site where the full text review is? Double trouble!

    Something to think about...

It follows YouTube's TOS a little closer as far as I know too which is a good thing.

I've actually played around with this and yes, it does work. It's difficult for me though as I have a large family (5 kids, a wife, a dog, a guinea pig, and an iguana). Suffice it to say that finding quiet time anywhere in my house for any extended period of time is challenging at best.

This is actually a good suggestion. Get the most bang for your content. To address your question: yes reviews are helpful and sometimes the driving factor for bringing in sales.

It really depends on your marketing acumen.

I don't use "review" sites per se, but video demos (mine are non-YouTube) as part of the promo page will dramatically increase conversion rates. I have found that a short (<3 min) video of the product in use will raise conversions well into double digits.

    oniram.....

Amazon affiliate sites still do well despite Google's hyperactivity which has wreaked havoc on a lot of static sites.....Writing your own reviews and videos will work well for you HOWEVER be sure to focus on updating your site with new material as often as you can, ideally daily as your site is in the beginning ranking stages.

I think the next review site that I spin up will incorporate YouTube videos to drive traffic to the site. That will be my next project. It looks promising.

It should work really well for you if your targeting product low competition products it's likely that you will not be in competition with any other videos.

I've been putting up a lot of videos lately for low comp products, for instance I put one up yesterday for a new TV that has recently been released and it is already at the top of page 2 of Google with 8 views.
      This is in around 16hrs.

Get yourself an animato subscription for $5 or go over to fiverr where there is a guy who makes 2 amazon product video reviews their nothing much to write home about but the least they will do is give you a backlink to your site!

      Hi spen...

Since I target low competition products, social bookmarking is usually all it takes to rank them. You'd be surprised at how many products that show "0" search volume in keyword tools actually drive good commercial traffic.

For content, I use my own product (Ultimate Product Review System). It's a data entry back-end in WordPress that basically provides a guided tour so my reviews are consistent in content and format.

It's good to set your sights on #1, but historically I've found that anywhere on page 1 results in sales....I'm surprised that you had no luck at #5!

make sure your keywords are optimized research for buyers rather than info seekers traffic. Getting 1st page of too broad generic keywords may not generate any sales.

Worst scenario, you could opt for solo ads to get some sales in.

Actually, it's very little work if you target the right products. I rank on page one routinely with very little to no backlinking.

Yes, Amazon product review sites do earn money.

I usually use the folks in Fiverr in making the videos and get some gigs on backlinks them in YouTube or TubeMogul. Just make sure your keywords are not too competitive for it to rank. You could use olx.com as backlinks too.

    All the best!

Amazon product review sites are doing well. You have to find a low competition keyword/niche to get into the top of Google. And add fresh contents in your site.

You better believe it. Everyone has a different approach and I mainly stick with the UK program from which I do quite well with. I use mainly free wordpress blogs, the free Google keyword tool to check for competition, promote technology products between £50 - £350 and make sure the product has good recent feedback and is in stock. I don't use videos or any of their widgets for my product reviews.

It is not rocket science trying to figure out how to make money through Amazon and the like and some people are lazy and just want easy fish rather the learning to fish. The keyword research can be tedious and the writing of each product a bit mundane, but the long term rewards can be excellent (if done correctly). I recently went away for a short break and came back to find another £107 in my Amazon UK account, now that is an very nice feeling
