Resource Hungry Flash Player 11

5 replies
Hi,

Has anyone noticed their PC heating up due to resource hungry Adobe Flash Player 11 running in the background of a web browser?

Or is it just me?

I'm using an old,trusted Sony Vaio with the following specs for browsing, research, mind-mapping and simple proof of concept production:
-> Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP 2
-> Intel Core2 Duo T6400 @ 2Ghz
-> RAM 2GB
-> Intel 4 Series Express Chipset

After having updated my Adobe Flash Player to version 11, it starts to really eat up my resources. When I stopped it's process, the PC's temperature dropped almost immediately.

Advice greatly appreciated.

PS .... I have a couple of newer models at my disposal. But this old chap has been a great partner and brought in pretty good biz for the passed 2 years. Would like to maintain it as long as I could.

    No problems here... but we run 64bit quad cores for all our systems:-)

    Flash is still the format of choice for rich interactive multimedia on the web.... alternatives are just not there yet. The world where flash was gone today would would be less profitable for most internet marketers.

    hmmmmm...

    I think it is the combination of FireFox and Flash Player 11.

    Chrome and Maxthon haven't shown any symptom.

    Hi Josh,

    If FF keeps this up, it will be pushing many users away.

    I'm a loyal user of FF. Very handy, fast, stable and secure for several years.

    But now it is at the tipping point of becoming burdensome.
