YouTube Video Question...

I understand that you can get some additional traffic from YouTube. My question is do people just record other peoples videos and post them as their own with minor mods.

If so what software is best for this recording and editing? Camtasia?

If the video does not have copywrites can it be duplicated? I am not a media guy and I dont plan on becoming one either I just want a fast way to put videos up within the niche I am targeting with good entertaining videos people will enjoy.

What experience do you have with this??

Some do, yes. They are commonly known as "thieves".

Yes that will work in helping you become one of "them".

Not unless it is in the Creative Commons selection on Youtube.

Since those videos are supposedly already produced and published, what benefit would you be adding by copying and posting the same content?

I have never stolen a video and uploaded it to my own account, but I heard it's a good way to get banned from Youtube, waste your time in non-productive tasks, and also creates a cloudy stench of karma that floats above your head.

Let us know how it works for you though, ok?

OK so your not suppose to do that maybe I will look for people skilled in media on something like fiverr to make a video or something.

I'm afraid I agree. Original content is the way to go. Everyone has an interest or passion and can convert that into compelling content.

I've interviewed a couple of highly successful video creators. Craig Turner, who's great Cat video achieved 1,000,000 views in a very short time ( webbactivemedia.net/marketing-blog/281-the-road-to-1-million-views-an-interview-with-craig-turner.html ) and the remarkable Bodyrock.tv who's view count now stands at over 600,000,000 and over 300,000 fans on Facebook! ( webbactivemedia.net/marketing-blog/287-bodyrock-tv.html ) Both offer advice on how they did it and creating great content.

    Good luck!

    Hi Esquire!

There are ways of getting "easy" content onto youtube that don't involve copyright violations. One way is to record yourself speaking your articles, and upload the resulting audio file with a nice background (probably of the words of the article appearing on screen). You can also do this with the words of the article only. I know that windows movie maker is great for this.

I would never recommend using camtasia or such like to record a video, as you'll pretty much always get some sorta frameskip. Notwithstanding of course, the copyright issues that have already been mentioned. You cant just record and use someone else's video. you will be found out, eventually. Especially if your video (as, I'm sure you intend it to) gets popular and gets a lot of views. in that case, the likelihood of discovery and subsequent infractions or banning (sorry, no experience with the youtube penal system ) will skyrocket.

Transcribing your own articles in one way to go about it. Another way, of course, is to be "inspired" by videos that you see on youtube. you may see a nice interview, for example, and try to replicate it (note: withOUT recording the video itself). Derivative works of this kind should be fine. There is nothing wrong with getting inspired, insofar as this inspiration does not involve you "copying" someone else's work.

    Hope that helps

Those arent the type of videos I am looking to make though. I want to make a certain type of video. Not me speaking a creative video of short clips with quotes within.

Something along the lines of all the others getting all the views.

build some simple slides in power point. voice over with a crappy USB Mic. record it all given any program you want. even fraps will work. but never ever steal content.
    not cool and counter productive.

Hello! The best way to do the job is to have your own unique videos or posts that people might enjoy, you'll have a clean conscience and great deals. I hope that helped you in a way or so. Best of luck to you though.

Any good inexpensive software for YouTube video's?

Yep. Only original content, everyone knows basic copyright laws - Don't copy what you don't own. Improve on it, be inspired by it, but never copy it. I've never used Camtasia but hear it's good. Not really a video guru myself, just learning.

Try something like TextAloud for quick text to audio over your video. With a couple of slides you could get a very solid video there in a couple of minutes!

    Then, time to promote it.

I guess the solution would be to find someone who is really good at making videos and loves it. Tell them my vision and have them create the product for me.

I have made the powerpoint voice over videos before but thats not the direction I want to take for this experiment. I want to see if I get clicks doing a certain type of video.

Any video guys out their who do short YouTube videos for cheap. I will look around as well.

Well, if its clips you're looking for, you can always go to various stock footage sites.

I personally use Footage Firm Stock Footage and Stock Video a lot (no affiliation), because they have the kinds of clips that I like to use, and have a lot of free deals often.

For what it's worth, I found a rather revolting consequence of using audio from Footage Firm.

This weekend one of my customers got a warning message from Google/YouTube that they might be using copyrighted material.

Freaked them out because it looks like something in your video "may" be illegal and they don't know I have reuse rights. Turns out Footage Firm has hired BFM Digital to scan YouTube videos to look for videos that use their audio (even though I purchased it and am in compliance with the Royalty Free agreement).

So now, any videos I produced that a customer puts on YouTube (which I would expect all to do) can get this warning message and contact me and say "What The Heck Is This?"

This is a huge nuisance and makes me look shady.

I normally use animoto and make short videos to post. I realize there are many reasons you to use other tools but animoto is fast and looks pretty good.

It is always better to do your own. Those kind of tricks usually get your account shut down. I read a story about a woman seeing a field full of people all catching rabbits. As soon as they caught their own rabbit, they were finished for the day and went home. When the woman tried to catch someone else's rabbit, she was told NO.

The rabbits were success. You can't try to take someone else's, you must catch your own. And you will, if you just keep on asking questions. May the Good Lord be with you and help you as you seek out the best way to proceed.

Matt Bacak once told me that you can find almost everything in the WF if you read long enough. Just look at the number of posts someone has first, because you don't want the blind leading the blind : ).

    Hope that helps some!

Always use original content. It's not good to copy. It doesn't look good to others either.

I got that same message from my last video! It said my account wont be penalized but caution.

I found a good person to make the videos for me. I have him creating one video per week for me for a good price $25 per video. All I have to do is tell him what I want and he knows what to do. It was a lucky find.

I am getting some views to my site off of the videos. Its still new so only a few thousand views on the videos. I will find out within the year if you get traffic off of YouTube since I will have dozens of videos all in the same niche.
