Print on demand books and PayPal

Maybe someone can give me some insights here.

I'm looking to sell a physical book via print-on-demand and accept payments through PayPal.

I'm looking for something that works like Kunaki but for physical books.

I'd like to be able to automate the fulfillment.

For example, I know you can use Nanacast, PayPal, and Kunaki to automate everything when it comes to CDs and DVDs.

What about for physical books?

    Hey Jason!

    Been racking my brains...without success...sorry!

I use createspace.com but they take the payments and fulfil the order. The only thing I could possibly suggest is that you pre-order a number of your own book (cheaply) and then make up your own paypal button for your site.

Regrettably, that would mean you having to send out the book yourself...

The last book I bought, was by Brendon Buchard....he used Infusionsoft. Do you have any knowledge of them to manage the process instead?

    Will keep you in mind...

      Thanks Joe.

I want to stick with PayPal because I've found that I lose around 50% of orders when I don't use PayPal.

But I also want the fulfillment to be automated.

I'm not sure how it works with Infusion.

I know about Lulu. Don't know if they accept PayPal.

Also I would want full control over the upsell process, so that's one reason why I just want to do a Kunaki/PayPal type set up.

I know you want to sell through Paypal, but I still feel CreateSpace is worth checking out as a viable option. I actually think selling through Paypal can sometimes create more refunds, since it is so easy to request a refund through them and refunds are typically granted. Going through Amazon means everything is automated for you. That is a big plus!

      hmmmm...

      Not a bad idea.

I'm driving my own traffic though, so I don't really care about harnessing the power of Amazon.

With the kind of funnel I'm talking about, I'd have control over upsells (to pay for the ads I'm running).

    Hi Jason,

I was wondering if you found a solution. I am looking to do the same thing with print newsletters. Are there any other print & mail on demand services like Kunaki for newsletters etc?

    Thanks.

      Nope. Haven't found one yet.

I'm about to check into what Ron is talking about.

Lulu.com allows customers to pay via Paypal or credit card.

The other alternative is to take orders yourself and then just process the orders manually through Lulu.com. There may even be a way to automate that like there is with a lot of the DVD fulfillment services. But you would need to contact them and ask.

Jason, another to check with is Speaker Fulfilment Services.

I use Lightning Source, Inc., they distribute through book stores and Amazon. They do drop ship too for the publsher, of course that would be you, but I've never asked if they take PayPal. A quick phone call would tell.

@inco22 - Kunkai ships within 24 hours. They send disc though the postal system. So, figure out how long it takes to have a letter go from the US to Canada or the UK. They also ship by UPS, but that is way too expensive.
