How do I Create Ebook Covers?

I want to create ebook covers (not for an actual ebook but the screen shot of it on the computer). I am under the impression that Photoshop is one way to go, are there other ways to do this? Can it be done on Word?

There are free and paid plugins that you can get for Photoshop. Or, there are many people offering services here that can do it also.

Do a Google search for PS ebook cover plugins and see what you come up with.

You may also want to check out Laughing Bird Software, they have a product that will create ebook covers, logos, graphics, etc. I bought it a while back and have been pleased with the results; it was about $40 when I got it.

Btw, Marhelper, you definitely can't do a decent cover with microsoft word, unless you are talking about 1-D covers. There might be options in word 2007 to make it look 3D but you can't change the graphics at the sides.

I've used CoverActionPro before as recommended, but I thought it'd be more time efficient for you to outsource the design unless you're planning to offer design services yourself.

to create an ecover you should already have some design skills or a ready made template ebook layout for you to edit the text, images etc. After that just install some action scripts in photoshop to convert them into 3d covers
