How to best interact with your list to get sales

Hey guys,

So I'm in the process of building up my first little e-mail marketing list building site and process. Previously I've made an online store that offers services that I've outsourced and am not focused on list building on that one.

This new site is not live yet and I havent signed up for Awebber yet, but heres what it looks like right now and the plan that goes along with it...

-I've built myself a nice landing page/squeeze page with a great video.

-Written up a badass e-book that I know people are going to get a lot out of.
-in the Ebook I connect with people, and let them connect with me on a personal level.

-On the Thank you page after they opt in it sets expectations of what they can expect from me as far as e-mails and approximately how frequent and what will be inside.

-I plan to make a huge series of videos uploaded to youtube week after week filled with valuable information and things like FAQs and should ask questions (all with optimized titles and descriptions to make them easy to find)... all videos linking to my landing page from the description. Anyone searching out these videos would be in my target market.

-Between both the videos and the E-book, I inject a lot of personality and feel like my viewers and readers will connect with me and like me a lot.

-All the while I've been keeping in mind all the things I've read on here from the people who seem to know exactly what their talking about, as well as everything I intuitively know about how to build a connection with people and foster a relationship.

-I've built it up like a "we're in this together" mind set, and encourage people to e-mail me with questions

-With these questions I'll be able to make little video answers for them, so they will help provide me with video content to be able to continually make videos.

-Besides the Youtube traffic, I'll be doing some PPC, solo ads, eventually ad swapping, and also a few other things I've learned about though this forum to get traffic to the landing page/squeeze page.

So thats what its looking like right now. How does all that sound?

Now heres what I'm curious about...

1. Should I put an offer on my thank you page after they opt in and get the ebook?

2. I've read Alexa say that she has found sending e-mails on day 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and thereafter at 5/6-day intervals is what she's found to be best. - So I guess I should have these e-mails pre-written, and set to automatically send after 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and thereafter at 5/6-day - So I should pre write at least 7 e-mails before I even make the website live, right?

3. Now I know these e-mails should all be super value giving and each one should entice them for the next one, right? But after how many e-mails can I try to sell something to them. On the 3rd e-mail? and how should I go about doing so?

I know of some guys who email their list only 3 times per week while others twice a day and both these guys are successful. I think it depends on what you are marketing and how you do it. What I am doing (and was taught) is to make 1 out of every three emails include a paid offer while the rest are value giving and relationship building.

All sounds very nice, the only thing I would change is the ebook as your freebie,
Try video instead, video converts more in my experience.
I wouldn't also send my traffic to YouTube too many distractions and perhaps
A little unprofessional. Do one thing at a time and don't rush.
paid traffic is great idea you will get data Fast! so be sure to test your stuff.

The money really relies on the quality of your list. Make sure your target all your leads and its deff a good idea you write at least 7 autoresponder emails to send them.

Yes, time and time again ive made sales off this thank you page

    2. Depending on what you want to do with your list, You can have it set up on an autoresponder that sells for you. If they are your own products its rather easy to set up. However if your AR is promoting other products you really need to check your links daily as they come and go.
If you dont want you you can always use the broadcast method and send them an email every few days, daily etc its up to you.

    3. Now I know these e-mails should all be super value giving and each one should entice them for the next one, right? But after how many e-mails can I try to sell something to them. On the 3rd e-mail? and how should I go about doing so?

To be honest you can sell them on the first one. Just make it honest good content and a honest good product thats going to help them out. If you sell them garbage right off the bat you can bet they wont be back to buy again and prob unsub.

Yes of course, this is a powerful marketing technique you should use. A lot of big ecommerce players use this technique to increase sales 200%!

    3. But after how many e-mails can I try to sell something to them?
I, personally, send offer on the 6th email. The first five emails I use to build relationship by sharing tips, stories, experiences, and news..

  • The only thing that pretty much matters when it comes to list marketing is your email open rate (if they dont open your emails, they wont buy).

And the only thing that pretty much matters when it comes to getting your emails open is your relationship with the list (do they see you as an affiliate-offer spammer, or do they look forward your regular emails?).

How to best interact with your list to get sales
    - Bribe them with freebies
    - Constatntly educate them without giving the whole picture
    - occasionally sending them your affiliate offers solving the problems you listed in your educational series.

Okay thanks I like this suggestion 1 offer for ever 3 e-mails..

Now how often do you repeat the same offer, just because I know people need to see something a couple times before they make a purchase sometimes.
