Wordpress membership plugin

Hey everyone! I hope I'm not going to mislead anyone to thinking this is an attempt to sneakily market myself, I honestly want to just take a pulse in the market for a product I'm creating.

I'm developing a Wordpress Membership Plugin that allows you to setup membership levels for your wordpress blog and essentially turn your Wordpress site into a membership site. My question is, how many people are needing this sort of thing and what would be the primary features you'd look for in such a plugin?

I realize there are other similar plugins on the market, but feel I can do it better. So that's my goal. Your feedback is MOST appreciated and I would buy you a beer or coffee if you live in Chattanooga!

From my view, membership should have at least..
    1. multi stage or level membership
    2. can add on / delete content easily
    3. can drip-feed content easily
    4. protects your content/products from unauthorized access
    5. can set up expiration dates for your content
    6. can be e-store also..
    7. can support multi products in one membership..
    8. easy to edit..

anyway, i live outside USA, maybe u just currier my coffee..

p/s dun forget to pm me when you release your plugin..

Thanks for the great bullet points fizyusuf. Um, I'll have to send the coffee in bean form in that case, darn.

Membership sites are great source of income. I ran one before but eventually sold it at Flippa for a considerable amount. I don't see any reason why someone who is interested would not use it... But the bullet points above is another advantage of a certain plugin to be more competitive...

    Hi John,

there are tons of membership sites that run on wordpress. And if your planning to build a membership plugin , I think there maybe quite abit of competition here.

    Wishlist membership
DAP - Digital Access Pass - Its not a wordpress plugin but runs on it.
WarriorPress - (new one) - I'm using this

Either ways if you do create the plugin, I'll gladly accept a review copy

lifeempowered, Paid Memberships Pro is a plugin that I've created which is 100% open source.

I'm trying to turn it into the community solution for membership sites on WordPress. I would love more people involved in development.

So consider contributing to our project before starting something of your own.

In the repo: WordPress › Paid Memberships Pro « WordPress Plugins
    On GitHub: https://github.com/strangerstudios/p...mberships-pro/

If you are into this for the business angle. I think there are loads of opportunities to make money using PMPro as a base. What I'm hoping happens is that people develop extra functionality and tutorials, etc around a membership site niche and sell that.

E.g., lots of personal trainers and other fitness experts are using our plugin. A package that included PMPro along with other plugins and themes that support the things they usually do with it could be sold as a bundled download or service.

Or you could build a bundle for Warrior Forum folks that includes a lot of the things they typically need: an upsell after signing up, review copies, long form landing pages, etc.

    Cheers!

Indeed, thats pretty awesome you are creating an open source one. I use wishlist right now as it's just great.

You should check the insides of it out for an idea of somethings you could do.

I'll check out what you have going!
