Is this safe? (iLivid)

I'm trying to figure out how to download a YT vid, safely.

I tried using the FF add-on, but that didn't work.
Then I tried all video download (site), that came up "error" when I tried.
So I searched for free online youtube downloader -- I tried 2 of them + they both lead to iLivid (some domain name, huh? It's got anger right in the name!

Yahoo answers says it's malware etc.

So... what to do? I need to download this vid (it's mine -- but I need to use it elsewhere).

any ideas?

Thanks!

    Thanks.

I found this one which seemed to work ok (no .exe accepting needed!)
    YouTube Converter - ClipConverter.cc

Here's another (dumb?) question... If a vid is PLAYING in my media player, how do I SAVE that file? I cannot see how. I also have it on my download list. I siad save when the pop up box came up, but it didn't let me browse WHERE to save it -- so I don't know WHERE it is saved on my comp!!

In Firefox, if you don't know where a downloaded file was saved, you can open up the download window (Click Tools on the top menu bar, then Downloads). Find the name of the file that was downloaded, then "right-click" on it. This brings up a small menu. Click Open Containing Folder, and the destination folder will open up with the downloaded file selected.

        Hi Timothy,

It sounds like you may have solved your problem now. However, there is a good Add-on for Firefox called Net-Video-Hunter. I've used this for sometime and can recommend it. Here's a link for anybody who wants to try it out - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...deo-downloade/

They have versions for other browsers as well. Just use Google to find them.

Firefox has an add-on called "Downloadhelper". It worked great for me for any type of downloadable video.

I'm using Safari (for Windows) now and looking for a video downloader for that.

There's a Firefox plugin called "DownThemAll" that would be what you're looking for.

A lot of them appear to be quite unreliable but keepvid.com does the job for me.

I use realplayer to view some of the video files like flash. When you install realplayer it comes with a built in video downloader that works great with Firefox.
