How long did it take to make your first ever sale?

Hi guys, I'm a newbie affiliate marketer. I've been a silent reader on this forum for the last week, and really commend you guys on your dedication, patience, and self belief that you could earn a living online. i've started a new site because i bought affiloblueprint 3 as my first course, ( awesome course btw ) and have set up a starter site realisticattraction.com.

Anyways, I was just wondering how long it took some of you to make your first sale? I dont expect to be making some green anytime soon, I only have 61 order form inpression counts and no sales, some people have said took them more then 2 months to make a sale, others have said 2 weeks or so. Imput would be appreciated, thanks

    Welcome to the Warrior Forum

    I started out with leads, as in i got paid per lead in 2009. As for my first sale , I believe it was with the amazon associate program within 3 weeks Ithink or something like that.

    Just wondering are you capturing your traffic and putting them into a list? that way you don't lose the traffic that could be lost forever.

    I made my first $100+ month after about 10 months of trying to figure this stuff out. The Affilo blue print is a good place to start if you want to go down the "build websites to rank with google path".

    It sounds like you have the right idea about IM and my best advice is, stick with it, there is alot to be said about persistence, sometimes your greatest failures turn out to be your greatest teachers, making them not actually failures at all.

    Day 1 for me. Actually...about 2 weeks BEFORE Day 1. Someone on another forum that doesn't exist anymore liked my writing style and knowledge and asked me to write for them. $200 & 2 weeks later I built a website and started officially taking orders.

    Mine was within a few weeks. I chose a product on Clickbank that had a low gravity and targeted the product review keyword as well as related keywords. I added a post with the keyword in and then posted articles back linking the post.

    It does depend on so many factors such as competition , work you put in etc.

    I would probably say within a week - I created my own product, built a website and used myspace to promote it..$34.95 in my account

    The niche was very limited and I knew after a year or so that I had to branch out - I started building e-commerce stores and worked on SEO it took me 1 year to make my first sale that way!

    But it has been consistent and growing and that is the main thing

    It took me 2 weeks. I had no idea of what i was doing. I had built up a list of around 60 subscribers, and my cousin said to send out a "50% off" discount to my list. I sent a broadcast email, and the next day i woke up with 2 sales in my inbox. I was amazed. I was in college at the time, and to celebrate... i went to the cafeteria and ate 2 pannines.

    Welcome to the forum! I don't think the first sale is that important, as I believe the first paycheck is the real marker to measure because it requires consistent results. I know that I started this whole journey in 2007 after being interested in IM since 2004. It took me over a year to make my first sale, and honestly took til 2009 to make my first paycheck. Guess I was a slow learner. But I didn't pay attention to this forum for a longg time, and I never bought an IM product until I was already carving a living out of it.

    It always takes a long time to make the first sell. Once you make your first sell, you will see the increment in your sell rapidly. Just focus on the traffic you are getting. In terms of selling affiliate products, it is very important to get targeted traffic. Non targeted traffics will never buy anything.
