Newbie: To Squeeze Or Not To Squeeze

That is the question

I am newbie to this area - so - I just had to ask. I have seen on this forum that "the money is in the list" (or generation of a list). I have also seen that the "squeeze page" is the best way to generate such a list. My questions are :

1. How is "the money in the list"?
2. It seems like Aweber is the autoresponder of choice. Is there a way to connect Aweber to a squeeze page in Wordpress?
3. Is it possible to connect Aweber to some kind of membership plug-in in Wordpress

TIA

The majority of people that visit your website will leave without buying anything, so if you can encourage them to sign up to your list you will have many more chances to get them to your website and potentially make a purchase for you.

I've read somewhere that it takes on average 7 visits to a site before someone will make a purchase, so unless you make an attempt to capture their email address you've lost them forever.

I use both GetResponse and AWeber and both of these are excellent. If you go through their training you will find out how to generate a form that you can use in a squeeze page. Both of these have optin form generators.

If you search on WordPress.org you will find a few plugins for AWeber. Here is one:
WordPress › AWeber Integration « WordPress Plugins

You can also create a text widget in the side bar and paste in the form code.

    Good luck with it

    Cheers,
    Suzanne

totally go with aweber, it is better for integrations down the road. You just need to add your "Web Form" code from aweber to your squeeze page or blog posts. This is exactly where to start. Just grab up at least 4 or 5 different wso's on list building and you will have a good foundation. Just don't get distracted, stay the course. Don't start thinking that some other program is better and jump from one to the next to the next. That is what the gurus are counting on so they can continue to dangle the carrot out in front of you.

That's possibly going to be a problem for you, then: you're apparently starting off with a fixed belief about something that isn't necessarily true.

If you interpret everything you subsequently learn through the filter of that belief, you may be doing yourself a disservice. I'm "just saying" - not with criticism but in an attempt to be helpful.

    This might help? http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

And these posts/threads may possibly broaden your perspectives a little by prompting the realization that you may be setting out with some unexamined beliefs which may not be altogether accurate ...

I don’t believe this! Higher opt-in rate, fewer sales

Everyone has answered you very welll, and I can't disagree. You need a squeeze page to get people onto your list, which yes can be integrated with your wordpress and with Aweber, which I agree is good. I however use TrafficWave simply because it's cheaper, though it lacks some functionality that Aweber offers.

As said previously people won't buy when they first visit so you need to gain their contact details to enable you to encourage them to buy in the future.

When we say 'the money is in the list' it's perfectly true and a general rule of thumb is that each subscriber is worth a $1. (of course that is by no means any kind of guarantee) but by having a list you can promote services and products to them for ever.

One thing about list building though that I will add - Never start 'selling' to your list immediately, no one will buy from someone they don't know. So you need to build a relationship with them and give them a chance to get to know you. The best way to do this is to provide quality content, a video training, useful article that kind of thing, you could add a ps to the end with a short ad if you want.

The easiest way to do this is with Aweber as they provide the ability to send an rss feed of your blog out to your subscribers daily/weekly or whatever.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks all for the responses

Should there be a restriction on the emails accepted on a squeeze page? My understanding is that some people create emails IDs on hotmail, gmail, etc. so that they can use this ID when asked for email addresses. So - when accepting email addresses, should these be "kept out"?

They do. From their perspective, and from yours, that's a good thing for them to do. Besides which, without doing that, they wouldn't be subscribing.

How can it help you not to let people who use hotmail/gmail sign up?

No. That would make no sense at all. Why would you want to do that? If you did, the people to whom you refer above simply wouldn't subscribe at all or they'd find another way round it, still without disclosing their "main email address", which wouldn't be difficult for them; additionally, you'd lose all the people whose main email address is hotmail/gmail/whatever - and that must be a few hundred million people.

Thanks again for the response In truth, I suppose not everyone uses hotmail/gmail for just throw-away accounts. My concern was that they would not get the periodic emails I would send (because the e-mails I send would go to the throw-away e-mail account and not their main one).

Hello dear friends, I must say that all previous answers are true and correct. The money are in the list and you must get traffic to your squeeze page and not to sell anything at the first step unless it is OTO (one time offer) presented to your subscriber after they have opt in to the free offer at your squeeze page.
And I also would recomend the aweber as your autoresponder.

All the best and see you on top and grow your list. E.

once you sign up for aweber it is very easy to integrate it into your wordpress page. They have step by step instructions that you can follow.

Money is in the list, you have a targest list that you can now mail out offers to, you know that they will be warm to buying because they are already targeted.
