Here's My Problem With Clickbank

I'm trying to use Clickbank's affiliate program but I got one problem.

I'm sitting in front of my computer looking at the product's sales page that I want to offer, but to me the sales page isn't enough for me to work with. I know that there sale's page sums up what there offering but it really doesn't. What I'm trying to say is I would like to read the ebook before I go out there and tell people to buy it, when I don't even know if it's quality work. I've been sucked into a great sale's page before only to find out the product was crap.

I would like to know how you guys cope with this and how you work around it, or should I just contact the publisher and try to get a copy and forget about those ones I can't. Maybe there's reviews out there that I can look at (I've never really thought about looking for reviews of there ebook's but then again I still don't think it's enough for me to work with).

Thank you,
Jeremy

Contact the publisher in a professional manner by introducing yourself and letting them know you are a serious marketer who is looking to promote their product. Of course, only do this if it's true. If you run your business like a hobby, then don't take this approach.

If you are, then tell them a little bit about yourself and then share something that you like about their sales page, newsletter, etc. Then ask them if they would give you a review copy or a discounted copy. Now don't be surprised if they say "no", but also don't be surprised if they say "yes". Every business owner has a different philosophy regarding giving away review copies. But if you don't ask, you'll never know.

If that doesn't work, then go ahead and buy the product anyway so you can review it. I've seen way too many marketers recommend garbage simply because they've never reviewed the product or service and that destroys the relationship with their list.

    Clearly.

It wouldn't make much sense to promote a product without knowing first-hand whether it's any good, would it?

I do. There are suggestions on how to do that here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post3641838

The ones I can't get free, that I might genuinely be interested in promoting, if it looks as though they probably fulfil the "basic product selection criteria" ( http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2161932 ), I buy through my own affiliate-link. This is, of course, completely legitimate, allowed and acceptable - but don't ever ask for a refund, if you buy it that way!

THANKS! I asked for a review copy of a Click Bank product and BAM!, got it!

They just asked a couple questions, then I had it Sunday morning. I was cool with taking them as a business expense, being green I never thought someone would give me a copy unless I was an already established marketer..

Thanks guys for the tips, I'm gonna contact the publishers in a professional manner and see where I can get with that. I don't want to spend 100's of dollars I don't have to only purchase a book that isn't good. I'm limited with the money I have and don't want to spend it on something i'm not sure about let alone offer it to my list. I just want to brand myself in the proper way.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Hi,
You have had some solid tips in this thread. I find that if I build a site and include this in my contact ,mail they then see I am serious and normally do a review copy.

My philosophy is I would never promote anything that I have not read/watched or used as I want to now if its any good. I have bought products from fancy sales pages with a view to promoting if any good only to find out that its a pile of carp and then legitimately asked for a refund.
If I think its crap then why would I promote and how can I promote till I now its any good?
If you are struggling because its a high end product that costs $100s i would be looking at a lower end product to start with.

The products I'm looking at aren't generally worth that much, but the thing is I don't want to purchase one product then find out that product is crap then ooops I have to go buy another one and ooops again its crap. I'm going from experience here where I've spent tons of money on products I want to sell and they where ****.

Here's my philosophy, you want someone else to advertise your product, then you should offer the advertisers a copy of your ebook so that they could understand and know what you are selling so that they can promote it at there full potential.

    Me buying 10 crappy books = 100$$+
Them offering 10 copys of there books = 0$

Once I read the product i'll be able to do what I need to do to make them and myself the money. So to you who would be the winner?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Buying 10 crappy ebooks should cost you nothing, because if they truly ARE crappy, you should get a refund just like anyone else would. That's the cost of a seller putting out crap.

I seriously doubt you'll have to go through 10 ebooks to find a decent product though, unless you're crap meter is turned up on high and you think everything is crap.

Sometimes it may require going through and reading hundreds of products to find the winners. The investment actually is a relatively small but very essential upfront cost of the total market research process. Trying to skimp here can be far more expensive, which appears to be a common failure among Clickbank affiliates.

Contact the publisher and ask them, Or you could just buy it for the reduced price, if the commission is 75% then your only going to be spending 25% to buy and read the book.

Ask and you shall receive. The beautiful thing about digital products is that it costs next to nothing (of actual tangible money) to produce another one. So giving you a copy for free in the hopes that you promote their product and make many sales is well worth it. As others have stated, they will also ask you some questions to make sure that you're not wasting their time.

The main thing that I would ask for is your track record. If you've been selling CB products then I know that you're for real. I honestly wouldn't pay for a product if I am going to be promoting it to make them lots of $. That's just IMO.

You will be surprised how many will allow you to have a copy, if not check the reviews and buy if they seem positive, if its good keep it and if not ask for a refund as ClickBank gives all buyers a certain amount of time and some producers even give longer.

Purchase the ebook and review it yourself. If it's crappy, request a refund.

For example, if you are going to shoot out an email to your list regarding this ebook, you want to make sure the ebook delivers.

You don't want your list to get turned off because of some crappy ebook. In the future, chances are, they won't even open any of your promotional emails!

All you need to do is contact the publisher and asked them for a review copy every time I've asked for one they are happy to give you a copy at the end of the day they are just marketers like you and me and know how important their customer base (list ) are so there's no reason why they wouldn't give you a free copy to put your mind at rest because if their product is of good quality and they know it they know that you're going to promote it afterwards and let's face it it doesn't cost them anything to send you a copy of the book!

Glad I was able to help people get the product without any cost. I've yet to do it since I've been working on other projects. Once I get to that point I will be sending them an e-mail and see what I could get.

Thanks guys for all the tips.

As others have mentioned you may be able to get a review copy, but theres' other reasons to consider buying with your aff link.

I've done this to see what the SUPPORT is like. What's the TOTAL BUYING EXPERIENCE....then I've written about that in my review, and it comes off as genuine, because I actually experienced it. Just a thought.

Ask the product owner for a review and if they don't reply back to you or say no, just buy the product itself and then see if it is worth it.

Buy you buying product after product you are actually providing your future customers a valuable service. I would use this as leverage and incentive to show your visitors what you did to find them the best product. Plus, at the end of the day you can refund any crappy product you want. Every product on Clickbank has a 60 day money back guarantee.
