What Would Be The Proper Way To Go About Guest Blogging?

Right now I've picked my niche and how I want to go ahead and work on it... Since I've got back to IM there has been new ways of getting traffic, subscribers, branding, etc. and Guest Blogging has caught my attention. In the last hour I've read alot about it and I have a slight Idea of what it is.

What I need to know is how I go about it.

  • Is it easy to get your guest post on someone else's blog?
  • Should I start working on my credibility on smaller blogs?
  • How do I get my guest post published? Do I send it by e-mail?
  • Does every Blog take guest posting?
These are just some of the questions I have. If you guys have any other threads that you can direct me to, it would be greatly appreciated.

PS To the other warriors who are tired of seeing the same threads come up time after time. I apologize but I seem to understand better when I ask my questions myself. I do quite a bit of research before I ask a question, but sometimes I just get lost with everyone's threads.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I accept well written and relevant guest posts on my pet blog (not the one in my sig)
I allow up to 3 links, either in the body or bio or both. People are always emailing me their posts, as long as they are of a good standard, I publish them and send them the link

    cheers

usually one would build their reputation and credibility first in that particular niche, usually an email to the owner of the blog offering to guest blog will get you that opportunity.

i think the publishing aspect is something you and the person you're blogging for work out in the terms.

Britannia I can't send any pm's until I have 40 post but if you could send me a e-mail so I have your e-mail and we would be able to discuss about your niche. Here's my email jeremywalsh32@gmail.com.

Hey thanks everyone, I guess I got the idea that you have to send a e-mail to the owner of the blog.

      Thanks,
      Jeremy

It depends. It depends on you, your ability to communicate value to the blogger's audience, how well your POV meshes with the blogger, and even whether or not they accept guest posts.

For many personality-based blogs, which focus on the blogger, you could be twin sons from different mothers and you still wouldn't get a guest posting slot - because no one does.

Not a bad way to start. But I would substitute the words 'lesser known' for smaller. The big boys (and girls) get bombarded with requests to publish guest posts, while those further from the bright lights do not. Besides, not all small blogs stay small and not all obscure blogs stay obscure...

Again, it depends. Some bloggers want guest posts by email, some have forms on their sites for submissions, and it all depends on how each blogger wants to handle things.

Some webmasters have guest posting guidelines already set out on there website and the only thing that your going to need to do is follow their directions.

Othertimes your going to have to contact the webmaster directly and ask to guest post on their site.

Not all sites will allow this.

Make sure your write high quality content as this is going to be many new users first impression of you and your website.

A lot of popular blogs accept guest posts and they clearly state this on their blogs. You do NOT need to have a name for yourself beforehand, all that matters is that your post is quality. I was no more than 2 - weeks into blogging in the personal development niche and landed guest posts on the biggest blogs on the net. If you write one quality post and it's well received by the blogs audience, then you have instant credibility and can guest post again for them.

its easier to get your blog posts on other blogs if they already accept blog posts. One way to find such web sites is to do a search with a relevant footprint targeting sites that accept posts from guests.

You should find blogs that regularly accept new guest blog posts. Or find a relevant niche blog and send them an email and ask for them to exchange blog posts with you. This way you get a backlink and they get one too.

From my experience as a blog owner who has let some people guest-blog on my blogs, most of them have paid to do it ($10 or $20 is fine for most medium blogs).

I do have blogs where anyone can post, but they have to use a specific system (like FTS) to do so. Of course, those types of services (UAW, FTS, etc.) are another way to get your content out there with backlinks, so you might like to have a look at them too
