Creating my first Contest, anywhere to get a good set of "official contest rules"

I am starting my first contest on one of my sites and was wondering if anyone had a good source or reference for a good set of contest rules. While obviously I will make the necessary adjustments to the rules to fit my particular contest, I am looking for a reference as to what is typically in these rules and what type of wording to use.

I'd appreciate any help or hints for starting my first contest

Check out my "Sticky" in the Contest subforum for some general guidelines to avoid legal problems.

Thanks for that, even though I think I may be confused even more. I just wanted to offer a free giveaway for an Amazon gift card where anyone could enter. And if people who entered tweeted about our site or liked us on FB they would get more chances to win.

Given your location, I'd start with the NJ gaming commission. Most places have definite rules (read 'laws') when it comes to contests and sweepstakes. You don't want to pinch a reference that tells you to do something that will put you on law enforcement's radar.
