Do videos from computer desktops look and sound ok to viewers of a live GoToWebinar presentation?

I'm going to do a live sales webinar. I'll be showing my viewers a Powerpoint presentation and be narrating live. I embedded some videos in the Powerpoint presentation and they look and sound great to me when I play the presentation to myself, but GoToWebinar says they don't support live video because it might look and/or sound funky to viewers. So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience playing live video to your viewers during a live webinar and how it came out?

Thanks

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you, but perhaps the best bet would be to hold a test webinar with a friend at the other end. Then you will know for sure whether your video looks ok to the audience.

For the purposes of testing only, I wonder if I ran the webinar as moderator on my Mac and then ran Windows simulataneously to view it if that would give me an accurate representation of what my viewers would see?

That should give you an accurate representation, but one thing to watch out for is how you set up the settings. Make sure you enable the system sound. I held a webinar a while back and I had a pre-recorded audio file of about 10 minutes and I didn't set up the settings right so I had to play the audio and get my mic close to the speakers because GoToWebinar wasn't picking up the system audio.

I had quite a few complaints because of the bad audio, so make sure you test everything thoroughly because you go live!

Now I'm thinking of possibly using a streaming service like Ustream, Livestream, Vokle, or Justin to stream my free sales webinar. I still wonder how the quality of video will be played from my computers desktop with those too.

Can anyone suggest someone that has a lot of experience streaming webinars with one of those services?

I haven't personally used these, but I did see quite a lot of marketers playing a video just like you want through Ustream. There was no lag and the video and audio were in perfect sync.

I have been on a webinar where the presenter showed a live video and it was fine for me.
Good luck, hope it turns out well!

I wonder why GoToWebinar says they don't support being able to play live videos during webinars?

Yes, they sound just fine. I have tried out with a few friend and we were satisfied with the results. But you might wanna ask someone who does webinars regularly.

Question: If you can't do this live on a webinar why not just make a video of what you want to get across and put it up somewhere on a timed basis (between the hours of XXX and YYY on DATE) ?

So much simpler and no silly technical issues to be bothered about.

You could use Richard Wing's Best Damn Redirect to make an expiring timed link

I own Filsaimes EBS but an important component to my free sales webinar is my live Q and A session immediately AFTER the webinar. So I'd like the first part of my webinar be a pre-recorded video with a live Q and A session immediately following...and I want to make the entire webinar appear live to my viewers. The only thing solution I came up with was to stream it live using something like Ustream. What do you think? Suggestions?

      Thanks again.

      Steve

P.S. Thanks for the tip about Best Damn Redirect too!
