How to get / increase organic traffic to your site

Great content + Great quality backlinks = Great rankings.

Provide the users what they want to read, become an authority and the rankings will follow.

Quite simply, of course, by increasing the number of backlinks to your website. There are several ways to get this:
- By writing free articles to article directories that had a higher page rank such as ezines, with the anchor text (link back) to the relevant web page on your site. But first you have to follow the terms and conditions of each web directory on the procedures for the placement and number of links in the requirement.

- By posting comments on blogs and forums related to your niche. You will usually be allowed to place a link back to your site.

- In commenting on Facebook, twitter and other social networking sites, but do not forget to attach a link that leads to your site.

- Do all the steps above on a regular basis.

It takes time but eventually you will find it not in vain.

I'd like to answer your "how" question in a seemingly generalized manner. I'll leave the opportunity to write a detailed response to our fellow Warriors.

There are two common reasons why people visit our websites.
A. They have found the information that they're looking for on your website.
B. They have been attracted by the information displayed, shown, or written on your website.

These two reasons must co-exist, at least, based on our years-worth of observation on what our clients have been doing to their online businesses. There are lots of things to consider, but this is what I only want to uncover. There's an individually unique rationality behind the two reasons I gave above.

Rationality for Reason # 1: The doer of the action is your web visitor.
Humans type on search engines when they're looking for something.
Simply, when you apply Google Penguin-aligned SEO techniques, your website appears on the first page of Google or on any other Search Engines (SEs). It may not always be on top of the first page but, at least, it's on the first page. Hence, make sure that you apply Google Penguin-based SEO techniques.

Rationality for Reason # 2: The doer of the action is you.
Now, this is a sequel of the first reason as to why people visit your websites. No matter how good you are in executing your superb SEO techiques, if the quality of your content isn't worth reading, visitors will just move out of your website and go to the next search result. When you write your content (be it an article, web content, product description/review, etc), imagine yourself standing before your audience. Isn't it that we tend to be more than upbeat in talking or in cracking a joke when we see someone yawning or when a group of people is going to the restroom while we're still talking? If you can carry that level of proactive sensitivity every time you write, I can bet, every single word will emotionally strike your visitor's mind to click on "Read More" instead of the "Back" button.

Everything I mentioned above is one of the many significant ways on how we do business.

Yes, it's only one way to increase organic traffic:
Increase your site's ranking/ SERP (Search Engine Results Position).

And... there's only two ways to increase your ranking:
Have quality contents and quality backlinks.

One of many ways to get quality backlinks: post your anchor links at .EDU domain blogs.

1) more and/or better content. That can include content better optimized to more effective keyphrases.

2) effective backlinking.

3) pay for traffic.

The question is how do I get better conversions because if you work this out then traffic is no problem.

The saying content is King! on the Internet has never died and as Google's algorithms get smarter and smarter this saying becomes even more true so focused on providing lots of very good quality content whether that be written or through video as in general through the last few Google updates video is doing even better in the Google rankings.

Go to some forums in your niche and post some valuable posts. Usually they allow signature after several tens of posts. If your info stands out people will notice you and click on your link in your signature. But your sig has to REALLY stand out. Make it big and colorful!

3. PPC (Google)

Your website content should be great quality and unique. All the pages should be optimized properly. Do social networking and offpage seo like forum posting, article marking, link wheel, link exchanging,blog posting and commenting etc. Initially social networking is the great source of traffic generating.

Do a search on this forum for traffic generation, read it and apply what you learn.

1. Write some "organic" articles (more of these)
2. Submit your "organic" articles to "organic" article directories
3. Post some "organic' comments on "organic" blogs
4. Join with "organic" groups on Facebook and post "organic" tidbits once in a while
5. Rinse and repeat "organically"

A wide variety of marketing strategies - starting with paid advertising. I would test a niche quickly with PPC to see if it's responsive. If it is, then i would roll out with youtube videos, forum marketing, articles on your site, blogging, and social media.

It isn't rocket science, and anybody can do it if they really want to. Driving traffic really isn't all that hard to do, but it does require work on your part. You can't just sit there and expect the traffic to automatically come. You ahve to go out and get it.

Think of the techniques that you use to drive traffic as fishing poles. they're out there in the huge Internet sea, and they're waiting for the digital fish to bite.

Each time you use one of the techniques, you put out another fishing line that will grab potential digital fish that if you have the right bate on the end of that line will cause them to bite.

It really is that simple, but you must first prepare the line and connect the bate in order to capture the digital fish which are your potential subscribers, and or customers.
