question about fiverr + ebay...

The people offering gigs -- does fiverr allow then to contact their customers (with other, non-fiverr offers) after the initial fiverr gig is delivered?

I don't see why fiverr would not allow that, but I'm just curious.

How about ebay? Do they allow sellers to contact their customers (after the initial ebay sale), with other non-ebay offers?

Again, I don't see why not -- but I know how ebay is a total "control freak."

Please advise.

Thanks!

It's against the terms and conditions to try and do more business outside of fiverr.

But if when you deliver the goods in electronic format and you add a signature link to your blog then it's the same as adding in a business card to the packaging of your ebay item.

Assuming you do a good job the customer will look at your website. Focus on delivering quality and you will get repeat customers. It's also worth setting up a "tip gig" if you do plan to totally over deliver.

What about ebay? What's their tos say about the idea of doing more biz outside of ebay, after the initial (ebay) sale?

I only sell old stuff lying about the house on ebay, so I suggest you read this yourself.

eBay is a complete control freak. eBay doesn't even like people building up their subscriber list which is an eBay marketing tool.

Do I do it anyways? Yes.
Do I purchase lists from other sellers? Yes.

My story on this is that I did a brief stint with "high end" electronics 2 years ago, including Macs, large computer monitors, TVs, PS3's, xBox 360's, etc. My "subscriber" base was compiled of 300,000 buyers across all of my accounts that had purchased Something from me within the past 12 months - I had put a disclaimer in my listings that by buying or bidding on any of my items, I would be able to send them an email with future offers. I emailed everyone and said I was having a huge sale on electronics, and that ______ item was ending in less than 24 hours. I had an overwhelming response that within hours eBay pulled all of my listings and called me on the phone and said they would not reinstate my account unless I told them how I had a huge surge of traffic to my listings. I played stupid, they said don't do it again, and I relisted everything.

I still do it (ha), but in a much different way. I'd love to point my "subscribers" to eBay to keep buying items on their platform, but it doesn't make much sense to do that knowing eBay would ban me so I msg about 50,000 people with special "VIP" offers to my own website. Plus, there's the whole fees and arm twisting thing I don't have to deal with.

eBay is a hard marketplace for new sellers. Try Fivver or marketing youself.
