Which Web Designing Program to go with?

Hey guys,

I want to make a squeeze page. I'm not much of a Web Designer so I would like something easy. I would like to hear about the free ones or the ones that you pay for. I'm looking for the best. I'm also starting a blog so maybe in the future it could help me design my blog.

Thank you,
Jeremy

    Hello JWalsh32,

Check out InDesign by Adobe, or give Muse a try. This is also from Adobe.

Although I would go Photoshop all the way for a nice design. Just check out some targeted tutorials on youtube if you get stuck on trying to do something;.

    Good Luck,

      Good Luck,
What? InDesign is not a web design program. Neither is Photoshop.

Dreamweaver is a webdesign program and probably the best on the market, all the professionals use it, and its used in all major universities for web design training.

        Professionals use textpad. Not Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver, textedit or just simply notepad.

Do note that Indesign, Photoshop is more for layout. These programs do not generate HTML codes.

    Muse is just nonsense.

For a start, you may wish to learn some basic HTML.

To construct a building, you will need a good foundation. Otherwise it will just crumble and fall.

    Sorry can't post links yet.

It's not a web designing program... but most IMer's use this Wordpress Theme to create squeeze pages.

      Elexmedia is right.

Optimizepress is incredible. I use it for all my squeeze pages and Clickbank products. It is a one time cost and worth every penny.

You'd be better off just buying a ready made template.

You'll waste too much time otherwise.

I use optimize press. The link below is an example of optimize press in action. It took me less then 5 minutes to make that page and it converts really well. It also builds sales pages, membership sites and product launch funnels.

      @JWalsh32:

Elexmedia provided the link you can go to for all the information on features and pricing. Just go to Optimize Press | Pro Internet Marketing Tools

But, to answer your question, it is a one-time cost of $97.

I'm going to chime in and agree with most of the other posters here.

If you do not already have passing web design skills, don't let that start your foray into internet marketing. It will slow you way, way down. You'll be muddling through minutiae and obsessing over layout.

Wordpress is free and easy to use. Optimize Press is $97, and even easier to use. This meets your need for building a squeeze page, and blogging later on down the road.

        Start there.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a ready made template dependant upon which niche you're in. You'll still need to edit it with your own specifics.

I have a video that shows the basics using nvu (an html editor) to make a squeeze page. what you would need is Kompozer (which is the child of nvu), they are basically the same editor.

here's a link to the vid imvtCenter.com Basics - How to Setup A Squeeze Page
    hope it helps ya'.

lots of other helpful vids there including a wordpress video tutorial series.

Do not even look at InDesign - I'm not sure why the people who posted here have mentioned it, but it will not help you with web design in the slightest.

Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop are the programs to work with. If you're on a PC (mac too, but eh) I recommend downloading Seamonkey by Mozilla. It's outdated, but it's newbie friendly and will help you make your site the way you want. It's a WYSIWIG. There are better out there - but this one is free.

I design everything in Photoshop, and then pay someone else to turn it into a website. I would do it myself, or at least attempt to, but I can NEVER get Dreamweaver to run. It shuts down when I start it up and I've been through it all with Adobe Technical Support so I eventually just gave up on it and pay someone else to do it.

I kind of hate Adobe, wasted about $1500 on something I could have downloaded for free, GIMP, since I only really needed Photoshop and Dreamweaver. If I could find someone to turn an .xcf into html I probably would have thrown it away already.

Just use wordpress, buy a theme and Optimize Press, Otherwise you will waste too much time. The opportunity cost in that sense is high unless you want to become a web designer, and even then ...

Dreamweaver and nothing else. You really should give it a try. But if you want a low priced option then go with artiseer.
I have heard good things about them.
