Confusion is starting to set in..

Well, I joined the forum a few days and have been reading NON-stop ever since, I need to slow down...Here is my problem.. as soon as I found out about internet marketing, I immediately started writing my e-book. This is in a niche that NO one has any product on at all and I am still working hard at it and plan to provide tons of affiliate resources. I am getting the sales copy written by a pro and it still being worked on as we speak. I am confident in the product and am still working on the guide to improve it.

Problem:

1. I have no list.
2. I am reluctant to launch the product here right away because I do not want to be seen as somebody who just wants to get rich quick, that was not my sole purpose for joining this forum.
3. I have no experience with JV's.

I have a strong feeling that this product can be HUGE.

Any suggestions, criticism, and advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well first, if you don't have a list then you should start creating. Set up a pre-launch with an opt-in form, or just start a blog to talk about your upcoming launch. Heck, you don't have to talk about your product at all, just get some traffic.

You can use video marketing to drive traffic and create interest as well.

Hi, thanks for the info. I have started a blog for the product in january and continue to post on it. I am currently getting about 150 visits per day.

150 per day is pretty good for a new blog. Keep creating traffic pathways to that blog and then use the blog to get people on your list.

that's awesome.. start getting a list built! Put a big opt-in box above the fold and above your content You could potentialy get 50 plus opt-ins each day.

Thanks, I will get on that ASAP. Just one thing, can you please clarify, "above the fold".

sure... when you open a web page, everything that you see is concidered "above the fold" when you start scrolling down the page, you are going "below the fold"

basically, you just want to have your optin box visible to the viewer without them having to scroll down to see it.

here is an example of the optin form "below" : Justin Glover's Secret Profit Formula | Prosperous Home Based Business
*notice you have to scroll down to view it

here is an example of the optin form "above" : Success Secrets | Goal Setting Techniques | Mike Litman
            its visible from the top

            hope this helps

The autoresponder wouldn't hurt but it may not be the best time yet.

But if you build a list without an autoresponder, then you will have to make sure that you are able to bring that list to your autoresponder later. Some providers has rules regarding the importing of existing lists.

This is pretty good traffic! How are you generting the traffic to your blog? Anyways my advice is pretty much the same. In order to create your list you need to offer that traffic a way to get added to your list & to make it easier offer them something so that they opt-in. Maybe a free report, etc Once you have the list e-mail them every time you post a new blog, or when you fin something good to share, etc add value to the relationship.

Good luck to you! Keep up the good work!

Honestly thats a big problem in my eyes. yea i know, i get emailsall the time that have success stories of people wo did it with no list, but i just have a different view.

Its better to have a list of all these people, with no product to sell them, rather than a product with nobody to sell it to.

I'd start building a list. shoot me an email if you need some help with this. Ive got some ideas that have worked great for me.

also, the best place to comminicate with me is on twitter. it limits my charachters so i can't ramble on and on, so therefore im always online. heres my link: Twitter / justinglover

Hey, thanks for the advice jg. I was thinking of just opening up a getresponse account as it seems the best and pretty reasonable in terms of pricing.

they are good. i personally use arp3. they are a little more on the frot end, but its a one time fee thats good for life. Plus they dont have limits on subscribers.

if it's not an IM product, then this isn't the crowd to promote to.. unless you are looking for jv's and affiliates.

Yeh, it doesnt have anything to do with IM at all, completely different niche.

Do you recommend I still do an autoresponder series (my e-book is not quite yet finished). Or should I just offer a great free report at this point to snag the email/name and follow up later when the guide is complete.

you might want to get something in your autoresponder, just so your subscribers don't forget about you before you launch your product.. maybe every few days send some links to some cool sites that are related, etc.

Perhaps you need to slow down and start at the beginning. Get to know IM and how to generate a list, build a site, promote a product, etc. Join some of the courses on offer and read the threads, search for info in the search box above, and don't commit to anything until you know what you are doing and the best way to go about it.

    God bless

You could start building a list by offering visitors the first chapter or 2 of the ebook.

I would not slow down, unless you want to derail your progress. I would get the autoresponder account today and get the optin form on your site today so you can start capturing leads. You could be missing 50 or more signups a day right now.

Next I would get a few messages in the responder series, so people who sign up get something.

You can rest after you get the product launched.

Thank you for the words, I have no intention of slowing down, just "slowing down" in the amount I spend on this forum , but yes I will get started on this asap.

Dont hesitate and just start the list.

Set up the product on clickbank and let affiliates find it. If its good, they will promote it. They are scouring cb engine constantly.

Everything is setup on clickbank, its just a matter of getting rid of that 0 gravity which I hope to happen soon

Thanks, there was one question running through my mind... what about the customers who do not opt-in but DO buy the product? Does CB provide you with their name/email? How would you get the info of these people as future customers to add to your list?
