How long would you promote a product for

Hi

I am promoting a clickbank product which has averaged 120 clicks a week for the last 4 weeks.

As it has not produced 1 sale yet do you think Ishould look for another simlar product or give it a bit longer

it really depends on what kind of clicks they are. if they are targeted clicks and you still havn't produced any sales, then you might want to find another product...

If I sent 500 people to a site and none of them converted, I'd be looking at a few things:

    1) is my hoplink working? hit the buy button, make sure you see your adff id at the bottom of the page.

    2) is the vendor offering other payment forms, thereby bypassing CB and you..

    3) if none of the above, then I'd try to find a product that was more in-line with what my traffic wants..

Id' also see if they have an opt-in form. if they do, sign up. click on any links that send you for their site and check once again that your aff id is showing up on the purchase page. sometimes the vendors like to replace the affiliate with their own cb id

Do you mean 120 clicks on PPC?

If so how much are the clicks costing you? What you really want to measure is return on investment.

So if the clicks are really cheap it might be that you make one sale every 200 clicks gives u a fantastic profit.

Avoid the temptation of trying to buy extra clicks with less targetted keywords.

When I do PPC which is not often I have my own little equation I work too ...

I divide the commission by 4 then by 100 to work out my maximum cost per click

So if the commission is $20 I am only prepared to pay 5c per click. $40, 10c and so on.
This has worked well for me ... but I must stress that I only use very targetted keywords.

what are you doing to market? Is the traffic your getting targeted or just random traffic. Try sending to a squeeze page or other type of info page that may drive them to buy. Write articles and try more targeted traffic. See if there are other people selling that product and if they are see what they are doing to promote.

A fair conversion rate is 1%, which means that out of 100 targeted clicks, there will be 1 sale. But it is not fair to call it quits when you do not get a single sale out of the first 100 clicks. After 300 to 400 clicks, apply this 1% conversion rate and see if you have made 3 or 4 sales.

If you do not, then it is time to move on and don't waste your time on this product.

I find that using reviews will actually prop up the conversions and give you a true picture of the sales conversion. Sometimes, the sales page may not convert well but with a good, honest review, it will make the difference. At least that's from my own experience.

To answer a few of the questions

I am posting articles on the same subject or sometimes using rebrandable promotional tools provided.

The clicks don't cost me anything as I am using free methods to get the articles/books downloaded.

I will check the link as suggested as other products are producing sales.

    Thanks

    Anton
