Domain Appraisal Sites - Which is the best?

Hi,

I have a few domains that I am looking to sell. How do you arrive at the correct appraisal of domains?

I tested some free domain appraisals such as Estibot & Domain Appraisal. One of the domains in this test was BackyardChickens.net.

According to Estibot, it is worth around $280. DomainWorth puts it at around $1,800. Which one of them is a correct appraisal?

    I'm not saying this is the best, but if you have a GoDaddy account, go to the auction section and start to set up an auction for your domain name. You can get a free fast appraisal. It may give you a median, and you may also want to just check around with sites like stimator and websiteoutlook to help guide you into the right direction. But the true "worth" is really what YOU feel the site is worth - you own it and nobody can sell it but you. Ya know?

    Automated domain appraisal sites are worthless. A domain is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. As for backyardchickens.net, there is a very well established forum at backyardchickens.com so that would eliminate any interest that I had in the domain.
