Informational product for a newb?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the initial process of creating an informational product that I will sell on various platforms such as Amazon and Clickbank. I've never done this before and the whole thing feels overwhelming. Also, when I say initial, I am talking about the phase where I'm just brainstorming.

I want to ask you about two things?

1. As far as eBooks and video informational products go, is there a niche a beginner should start with?

2. Can you summarize the steps from beginning to end on how to create an informational product? e.g.
1. Write an eBook
2. Use a certain software to create a sales page
3. Use a certain software to create the eBook cover and etc.

    1. A niche that actually interests you.

    2. I think you should spend some time on #1 before worrying about creating an info product. If you don't even have a niche down yet, you aren't ready to write a book.

I appreciate what you are saying, but since I create outlines when I work on projects, it would've helped to know what types of software to use.

Of course... A niche that you have passion on it.

Just read this Tim Ferriss' article. It tells a story about a person make $1,000,000/ month from a body building book, a niche that he loves: http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog...bs-mike-geary/

    2. Can you summarize the steps from beginning to end on how to create an informational product?
    1. Write an eBook
    2. Use a certain software to create a sales page
    ---> You could use Optimzepress
    3. Use a certain software to create the eBook cover and etc.
---> You could outsource it on Fiverr for just $5
    4. Launch it on Clickbank to get affiliates for your product.
    5. (Another tips) Promote the ebook by yourself using Google Display Network

    It is overwhelming.

But you have the right idea - split it up into parts.

    1. There is no niche you should "start" with. You need to KNOW about the niche you go into and make sure that there is a market for it first.

    2. Writing an ebook - you will find out WHAT to write about when you are researching the niche and finding out what questions people have. The more you find out about the niche - the MORE you will know which questions are being asked - this will help with the sales page.

    3. When starting out I would outsource the sales page and ebook cover until you learn the ropes.

    Hope this helps?

I do not think there is a short, to enter the clickbank and amazon you have to do some research first about what is in need of people today. so you are not wrong in making the product, if you do the research then you create a product that other people are looking for. Your product is guaranteed to be successful.

    Hi,

Info products are a great way to make your money. However, there is no niche that only "beginners" should be involved in. As a couple people mentioned earlier, it's best to go with something you're passionate about, but at the same time to go with something that people truly do want.

The #1 role as an info marketer is the role as an educator. If you wanna be successful you can never forget that, so just ask yourself, what do you feel you can educate someone on? then go from there. There does have to be a market for this information too, so that's where your research will come into play.

Go online and do some keyword research, forum research, and all other kinds of research, and find out what the people in your market are looking for. Test the waters. You want to narrow down your market and so much that you know exactly what they need. Find out, then write down, what their biggest fears, frustrations, obstacles, and aspiration are...and once you know what they need, you can then serve them with a solution.

Because that's all your product is when you think about it, a solution to your prospective customers problem (assuming that your stuff is really good and it helps people).

So once you've figured out what you're gonna educate someone on, then decide how you're gonna do it. What type of product are you going to create. An ebook, home study course, audio book, video course etc....

I won't go into much detail on how to create these things now but you can PM later and I might be able to help you out then....But I will say this, creating a product is actually alot easier than most people think and can be done really quick if you have a little bit of money to spend. You can shoot a video(direct to camera, or using a powerpoint presentation), extract the audio from the video, have the audio files transcribed into an ebook, and have 3 products for sale all from one video (Video Course, Audio Course, and Ebook). So that's real cool.

You can use Kajabi or Optimize press to create your whole sales funnel from A to Z. You can do it all yourself or have someone do it for you. I use Cover Action Pro for my Graphics. I'm pretty good with Photoshop so I can do it all myself, but If you want you can outsource all of that.

    That's pretty much it.

    1) Narrow down your audience
    2) Figure out what they need
    3) Create a relevant product based on your customer
    4) Market That Product Online

I know this was a long post, truthfully there is so much more I can say to you on this topic, but I can't fit it all right here...But that's the process in a nutshell. Feel free to PM me if you need some extra pointers.

    Hope this helps,

You should buy a product about how to create a product so you can get detailed step by step directions. Optimize press is pretty sweet for product creation. Camtasia is nice for screen capture videos. Open office has the slide show. Filezilla will help you deliver the product. Do some searches on You Tube for how to set up as a Clickbank vendor.
