Where to sell products

Lets say I have some products(brand name products) I can get with very good price. I can easily build a site, but before I go all out I want to test if I really can make any money from them.

I am thinking of making some test sales on ebay or so.

What would be the best approach for this, other then ebay?

Amazon is an easy place to sell goods if you can get it for less than them. People are looking for the items and they will buy. I have sold everything from workout weights to a painting kit.
Another option Craigslist. Another option, you could whip up a Web2.0 that allows affiliate links and see how it goes.

with amazon, they have several options to choose from, e.g. store, free posting etc. which one you would think works best.

If they carry the item, I would just list it on the page. Locate where it says "have one to sell" in the right hand column and list yours. Couldn't be easier. You can also look at the sales stats on products to see how well things are selling at Amazon to decide if you want to carry certain products.

There is no charge to list on Amazon. Only if it sells. Seller fees can get a bit pricey but if you want fast transactions and to try things out - it is awesome. Quick and easy.

Then if things go well you can decide if you want to market it on your own site. You may even want to send it all to Amazon and have them service the sale for you. All depends on your price points.

Like was already mentioned: Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist are three good sources to test your market. Depending on the item quality I assume you could try fiverr.com.
