I've gone too far with my niche site. Help!

This is my problem, I always overdo things. I have an exercise related niche site, and at first I was just going to promote a few products from amazon. But then I got the idea to promote the best products from amazon, so I ended up creating categories and sub categories for products...so now I have like ten pages waiting to be filled with products.

I'm really not sure how to go about this.

Do I create product reviews for each of the products? Do I just copy and paste a picture widget for each product, kind of like an online catalog? And where does my blog fit into all of this?

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm about ready to pull my hair out.

If you're going to promote the top 10 exercise products from Amazon on I recommend you do it like this as this is how I do create a blog titled top 10 exercise equipment or something along those lines.

Then in the blog post lists the top 10 products that you want to promote from one to 10 number one being the best and reach one of these add a small picture and a brief description of the product with a little hyperlink saying for more information click here.

Now this link can either be directly to Amazon to the product as your affiliate link or it can be a link to another page on your website where you going to more detail about the product and how you feel it would benefit the user and also you can take some customer reviews from Amazon as these generally help with conversions and throughout the article put something like ( for best price on the product click here ) which will be your affiliate link to Amazon also make the image of the product clickable and inbed your affiliate link to Amazon in the image as well.

This is generally the best way of going about creating a review site that I have found.

Also There are many different review themes that you can purchase for WordPress I recommend you do a quick Google search for product review themes as these are designed for multiple product reviews and have a very slick layout for promoting products and although they cost a little extra than the free themes they convert a hell of a lot better.

I would remove the categories until you can fill them and just ad one at a time and write reviews on them, you could also do a video related to them and put that on there and a YouTube channel sending traffic to it as it you gain views.

    10 pages - wow!

Come on Cybria, that's really not that much effort. I have thousands of pages on my site.

Just remember that your reward will be in direct proportion to your effort and get cracking.

    Good luck.

Provided you've told your visitor what the intention is with regards to the pages and their future you have little or nothing to worry about. People scaremonger when it comes to this kind of thing. Of course its bad practice to have dead pages with absolutely nothing in them but take a look at the link in my footer for example. We've just taken the directory over and there are many for all intent and purpose 'EMPTY' pages, but they are either waiting for people to submit too or simply being re-reviewed. We considered taking them away until they were being filled and could have waited for visitors to suggest categories to us but that's a risk we did not want to take. We prefer to let visitors know we are aware of these categories and want them filled.

As Will said above, ten pages is almost laughable to worry about. Good luck and my you succeed in all your en-devour.

There was a WSO that automates the process a bit - you might find it useful - I'm pretty sure it was called 'Amazon Affiliate Automation' - I'm sure you could find it if you did a search.

Sounds like you've done a lot of the hard work of organizing your site already.

You can always start from the top down with some "category pages" just pre-selling the idea behind all your categories and then start to add sales pages as you go further down.

Many themes won't even show the categories until they have at least one entry, so it's not like you will have a bare cupboard showing. If you have a different style of theme, there are plugins that will suppress individual pages and categories.

      Otherwise, just get cranking.

There's an old saying I go by. 'Empty Shelves don't sell' so if you only have ten shelves to fill then it would be a very good idea to put something on them, even if its a sign saying 'sorry we are doing stocktaking', people are more tolerant than you might think and don't always think the way marketers do.

Thanks everyone for your input. I decided to go about it by featuring the top three products on each respective page, then I put a "More popular choices" link at the bottom of each page. I figured the three most popular choices are the ones that people would want to see the most. And then I will use my blog to feature different products every week.
