business 2 business ebook selling query

Hi there,

I'm new to the site, and new to internet marketing, and looking to learn more about what would work for my niche, which is business finance in the UK.

Having worked as a funding specialist since 2008, helping to raise over £65m in alternative business funding, I then developed and compiled a really good list of companies actively funding (264), and put together a 100 page ebook showing businesses how to go about this new process, plus the list. No-one else is doing this, at least not well.

It's been slow going, done some forum marketing and tried to get JVs going but nothing is happening. Can anyone help with lead generation strategies that might work in this niche?

Thanks for any help!
Chris

    Hi Chris

    Welcome to the forum.

As I see it, you have got a number of options:

    1. Build a quality resource that attracts organic search traffic
    2. Buy targeted traffic (advertise in some shape or form)
    3. Approach people who are already active in the niche.

Personally, I would not do #2 until I had first figured out the value of a visitor (simple maths). Once you know that, you will also know what you could afford to pay for targeted traffic.

Option #1 takes time and effort, but perhaps you should be doing that anyway - blogging is a good start.

Option #3 is probably the quickest route to success once you find the right people to work with.

    Good luck with it.

    Will

      Hi Will,

Thanks for the post; very helpful.

Would you be interested in helping or am I right in saying, having looked at your site it's not your niche?

Any thoughts on where I could go to approach JV partners? Most finance websites are brokers looking for a cut of the facility and not interested in this sort of approach.

      Regards,
      Chris

        Hi Chris

        You're right - it's not my niche.

With regard to finding the right people, there's no trick to it. You just have to use that Google thing and write emails. Visit the right forums and make contacts. Even if you make the wrong ones, at first, they can often lead/point you to the right ones.

By the way, I see you're up there in Weston. I'm just a stone's throw away in Minehead.
