Pissed off about not getting instant delivery

So, I found myself hunting through the WSO section tonight, looking for some good info...the subject really didn't matter. I just felt like reading instead of actually working...call me lazy

Anyway, I find an item that I am interested in and purchase it only to find out it is not set up on automatic delivery.

My question is, why the hell would you not set your report up on automatic delivery so that your customers can get it as soon as they purchase? It just doesn't make sense to me. Is this some sort of super duper stealth ninja tactic that I have not picked up on yet?

More than likely by the time I actually get the damn thing, I will actually be working with no time to read it.

I can understand if it is a deal where they have to set up my account or prepare something and send it to me. But, that simply isn't the case. I am buying a report -- the same report that everyone else that purchases is going to get.

What the hell gives?

Some people don't know how to set up automated delivery or for some crazy reason want to process the orders manually. Or they set it up wrong and didn't test it.

They should make it clear in their ad if there will be not be instant delivery (assuming it's not something like a service werhe that would be clear).

Yeah, they should ask for my free help. I'll be glad to help them out and setup the auto delivery system. If they only promote my hosting service afterward

I completely understand what you mean Jeremy,

I think everyone prefers to get what they paid for immediately. Maybe the person didn't know how to set it up for instant download or delivery or have the resources. I am speaking from experience here.

Also from experience it is a huge pain in the a## manually sending out every order, which was the deciding factor for me to set up an automatic delivery system, plus it just made itself available.

For people starting a WSO for a digital report you should really check out WSO Pro. It's well worth the $1 for a test license. It not only makes your job a LOT easier, it gives the product to the customer immediately, which is what they want. (i have no affiliation with WSO Pro, just a happy user)

Anyone can get a free trial account at e-junkie.com so there's no reason why it can't be done.

Unfortunately some do it on purpose to encourage posting replies.

Well, it could also be a case where they thought the product was set to instant delivery but Paypal slowed the thing down because it made you manually accept payment for some odd reason...that's what it did to one of my buyers...stupid Paypal.

People do that so the thread fills up with posts like "Just paid, transaction 345347891 looking forward to it".

It makes the thread/WSO look busier and attracts attention...not saying everyone does this but it's a proven psychological tactic people use to draw attention to their WSOs with high post counts.

    Post in the thread...

...that you want a refund because of their lack of delivery.

You could also mention that you cant trust a product if the person doesnt have the intellect to setup auto delivery.

It will hurt their sales and if done enough, they may stop with these bullshit tactics.

      .
My vote for most illogical post of the week...One reason, a person may have the intellect and may have an intelligent reason not to offer instant downloads. Also your logic is flawed as it implies IQ and "trust" are the same and connected.

      To All...

And why one may not offer instant downloads in general? Paypal (2CO too?) recommends that you don't deliver digital products for about 24 hours after the sale, to give them time to do a fraud check on the purchase.

Also, how does a seller check to verify the buyer isn't a chronic refund artist if you give instant access?

And many WSOs need to be customized for each person...

I often don't give instant access on WSO's simply because I don't sell enough units to make it worth my time to set up and TEST instant downloads. If I have to take the time, I'd likely raise the price of the WSO to pay for my time. So sometimes the trade off is the absolute lowest price vs. having to wait a few minutes up to a few hours, if I'm asleep at the time of the order.

A seller may even use the WSO to test the system, in reality offering a price discount in exchange for some expected delays.

Also, I have a WSO for my private forum. While admission should be automatic, there's any number of glitches that interfere with this, such as if the buyer is already a member, but forgot, and now has a different email address (among many other problems) that restrict auto access. Because of this, I choose to send a non-automated email after each order, which is not "instant".

There's a number of other legit reasons not to offer instant download. However, I do post in my WSOs to allow up to 24 hours.

I have to agree with Kurt on this one. I have had some big name marketers not have an instant delivery on their products for some reason or another. Myself, I always try to have an instant delivery, it's easier but some people just don't use it for some reason or another.

Another thing is, maybe there is a flaw and it was supposed to be an instant delivery but it didn't work right.

Hmmm.....well I know I get disappointed if it is not instant delivery as we all are crazy busy and if it comes 1- 2 days later...well - I might not even get to download it as it is now "out of my mental focus"

...so while I see it is an interesting 'ploy' to get more responses to the WSO thread and it may be a paypal - give it 24 hours issue-

I call it 'boo yah' - that is BS - as the WSO's are so inexpensively priced...I'm sorry - if someone is worried about a measly refund from an WSO -well then - they aren't for real anyway...and not making the money they 'claim' to make!

If you are selling a $27 report in the WSO section that is the same thing for everyone...It should be set up on instant delivery.

If it's not then you should post in your listing that it isn't.

If you are smart enough to put a "buy now" button in your WSO you are smart enough to set up auto delivery.

I'm not trying to tell people how to run their business....at all.

However, when I pay and still don't have the product 5 hours later, I'm more than a little annoyed.

I won't be asking for a refund, I just won't be sending this person any more of my money.

I have to agree with you. It IS annoying to find something you are interested in (maybe even thuroughly excited about) enough to buy it, but then when you submit payment...you're left hanging on a payment screen with no product. It kinda kills the moment, lol.

There are plenty of scripts available to protect download pages that are really inexpensive (assuming they are using something popular like paypal for payment).

As for people who are worried about link sharing. If people want to share something... they'll do it regardless of a protected link or not. It's just as easy to share a PDF as it is to share a link.

I wouldn't go as far to say that I will never buy from them again. I bought a wso recently that wasn't auto delivery (didn't state in wso) and almost 24 hours later I found it was quite a good report.

I think it is pretty much the standard to offer instant delivery but if not offering it at least say so in the WSO. And I think it's just a shame people are puposely not offering instant delivery to boost replies...

The wonderful world of instant gratification, Jeremy! LOL

I hear you completely. I sell a few products that were getting a few too many refund requests. I didn't realize why until a customer emailer that the download page was broken. Now that it's fixed...zero refunds.

Good customer service should never be compromised for inflated WSO posts.
