what day and time is ideal to bump a thread?

I hear that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best around 9 am PST, but here are my thoughts.

1. If I bump the thread then, so are others, so while those may be ideal days and times, the trouble with that is it will get buried fast.

2. If however i bump off peak days or hours, it may stay up longer but the number of viewers can be less.

Is there a happy medium? Can't we just get along? lol

Let me know your thoughts

What kind of thread are we talking about here? A discussion thread? A WFH? A WSO?

Not that it matters too much. There isn't a set answer as much as we would like to believe there is one, especially in the case of WSO's where such a large amount of traffic comes from emails (making bumping just a little bit pointless).

I agree. What works for some folks might not be optimum for others, too. I am not sure there is actually a "good time" to bump a WSO, if that's what you're talking about.

      It is a WSO, yes.

The consensus seems to be that there really is no best time for a WSO. You're looking at about 6-8 hours typically on the front page at best. It very well could be lost money as well, as a vast majority of WSO traffic these days seems to come from affiliate lists.

Keep in mind this is all secondhand too, as I haven't personally launched a WSO. I just listen to other people talk about them and while I doubt it, they could be total liars .

          Hey Joe

I've bumped my WSO many times, and only once did I lose money. Every other time I made a nice profit; and I have a very inexpensive (so I'm not making a huge profit) WSO and it is geared towards a fairly new/small niche. So if you had a WSO that focused on a broader topic (say TRAFFIC!) and you had decent converting copy, I think you would have a hard time not making your money back at least... But I'm just speaking from my limited WSO experience.

You really should not bump a thread at all. If your question doesn't get answered naturally trying to force it on people is not a good look either.

Is this regarding WSOs? You haven't specified..

But if it is, here's what I know from some of the threads I've read. Most of the WSO sellers, in my opinion, belong in one of these three categories when it comes to WSO-bumping:

    1. The ones who swear by weekdays to bump their WSOs - trust me, you aren't the first person who's heard that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best time. But since so many people bump their WSOs in this timeframe, your thread is more likely to fall off quickly.

    OR

    2. The ones who bump it on low-traffic days (Sundays/Holidays, for example), so the likelihood of their thread plummeting to second page is lowered (but this comes at the cost of lower traffic)

    OR

    3. The ones who don't bother bumping their WSO much. They get enough traffic from JVs and a strong launch as it is.

Of the three, guess which one has the most 'Pros' and least 'Cons'? That's right - #1. That should be your main focus when releasing a product here. If you lack a good number of affiliates to promote for you, or a strong launch, I'd definitely advise you to bump it once during the weekdays and once during the weekends and see what works for you best - different people have had different results.

    Hope this helped!

Have heard the same about Tuesdays being a good time and if you looks at all the major launches they are mostly on Tuesdays at 3-4pm EST.

I normally just run it as EST and aim for 3pm - 4pm any day except weekends and have had good results.

Also best to bump if you can at weekends and you spend longer at the top

Bumping WSOs is almost completely useless anymore. There are exceptions though, and you will have to perform your own testing to see if your offer justifies bumping.

Forget trying to time it to traffic peaks. Forum traffic is largely irrelevant due to the fact that most WSO activity is pushed by affiliates, not by people browsing the WSO section.

    Agree with Michael.

Don't bother with bumps, get yourself more affiliates...

Then it doesn't matter what page you're on.

okay, wow, great varying opinions which is great, but helps little with my confusion. While I agree that one should let the affiliates do the work, you should bump it several times to get affiliates to see it in the first place, I suppose.

To bump or not to bump, that is the question.
To suffer the slings and arrows of misfortune or to bump perchance to sell
Alas poor Yurik, he bumped so much ended up being bumped off himself.

Well my WSO does not have an affiliate program because I build sp's so bumping is necessary me thinks to have the visibility. But based on what I am reading, I think I should try bumping at different hours of different days and see where that takes me.

@Creditbuilder, since you don't have affiliates then optimize your thread's title with keywords that make sense and tag it properly as well so people can find your offer.

Also, bumping your thread is not a bad idea as long as you can break even. Actually, you can target your audience by playing with the time zone when bumping a wso thread.

For example, if you want to target North American audience then bump it when they are not sleeping make sense right?

Finally, if your aim is just to stay on the first page of WF then bump it at Saturday night (9EST) it will stay up there until Sunday noon based on my experience.

I always bump my thread during weekends. It stays in the first page long, but the traffic is not as I'd like it to be. Maybe I should try bumping it in the weekdays too.

I am beginning to think that is the best way... since for my niche, weekends might just be the best and for another, it might be Friday. Until we try we wont know. I asked the folks for which i created their sp's for them and they all tell me different things.

I just realized you're a war room member. There is a WSO mastermind course for FREE in there. Just search "WSO MasterMind" and you should find it. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll help you out. It has a list of best times to bump.

I would never bump my thread during peak hours as the thread doesn't lasts for a long time on page 1.

The best time is 8Am-9.30 AM and then again 10-11PM. Those are in the US timing. I have seen the best timing with those though.
