How Do I Get Multiple WP Blogs With Hosting Zoom?

I started my first blog using the great training of StevenR's at supersimpleblogging.com.
I have just used this blog to try things out and mess about with really. Now I want to start a proper blog to use properly for making a name in my niche and making some money.
I have hosting with Hosting Zoom for the original site and I have purchased a new domain name for my new site. As I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, can someone tell me if I can utilise the same hosting for my new site or do I have to pay another $14.99 per month and go through supersimpleblogging.com again.
Can I start a new site off the same hosting while maintaining the original Wordpress.com blog?

This is really holding me back, many thanks in advance!

If you mean this company Hosting Zoom | Failover Web Hosting, cluster host, clustered hosting, high availability cluster, cluster hosting, I'd be fairly certain you can use it for as many sites as you can fit into the storage allowance. They don't seem to charge $14.99 a month though, so maybe it's not the right company.

If your host offer cpanel, go into cpanel and look for "add on domains". That's where you add your new domains - after visiting your registrar and pointing the nameservers to your host. You'll soon find out then if you can add more sites.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, that's the company, they must have changed their pricing plans since I started. Do I need to have a new set of name sever numbers (dns right?) from the hosting company or can I use the ones they sent in the original email with all the log in info etc? I found where it says "add domain" in cPanel but it wouldn't let me do it. I guess that's because I hadn't pointed the nameservers to my host which is what I'm not 100% how to do.

Yes, the nameservers will be the same for all sites you add.

Which registrar do you use? On Namecheap you have to go to something like "manage domains" and then look for "transfer DNS to webhost". (I wrote that off the top of my head, without looking at the Namecheap site, so might not be totally accurate)

This domain is with d9 hosting. I will see what I can cut, paste and permanently delete... what's the worst that can happen? :-) Thanks so much for the replies, I will post back with my results.

Just noticed it's a reseller account with resellerzoom, a sub of HostingZoom.

I'm surprised that a legitimate hosting company doesn't have their own support people...

Cheers for that John. I'm a little inpatient, unvirtuous I know. If their customer support is anything like Market Samurai I'll be lucky to get a reply in 24hrs. Knowing this was something I had to have answers to quickly I made the decision to consult the good people of the W.F. and I have been vindicated. This place never ceases to amaze me. Thanks again Rosetrees!

I've been with Hostgator for several years now, and I guess I've gotten spoiled by the support I've gotten. With a reseller account, I'd have had the answers faster than I would have asking folks here and hoping someone who knew what they were talking about saw it right away.

You got lucky this time, having someone competent answer right away.

If it's a reseller account, not only can you host unlimited accounts, but you can set each one up with its own cpanel. Maybe ignore that last bit until you've had a bit more experience. In fact - contact HostingZoom and ask if you can downgrade your account to their entry level, $3 a month package and then upgrade when you have more experience.

I'm afraid I don't understand your previous post about cutting and pasting. You confused me.

I just meant I was going to mess about with a few things and see how much damage I could do. Thanks so much rose. I have now set up a new WHM / cPanel account so at that I'm off to bed. Will start again in the morning. Thanks again!
