Good day,

I am feeling so sad, i mistakenly deleted my wordpress website, please what do i do? the annoying thing is that i didnt backup my files..

Thats horrible I have no idea how you did that but I guess it could be as simple as deleting the wrong folder lol. =]

One thing I can tell you for sure is I'm going to back up my WP site right now. Let us know how it works out for you.

you might also try using google cache or thewaybackmachine to see if any of your content is still archived. You would still have to re-setup the site, but you might be able to retrieve your content using these methods.

The same thing happened to me and luckily I was able to recover my site. This depends on what hosting you're on, but some hosting providers give you automatic backups, and if this is the case, you're back in business.

What you want to do is go to your cPanel, and scroll down to the Files. In Files if you see something called "R1Soft Restore Backups", than you are very lucky... It keeps your backups without you doing it manually. Just click the icon, then open up the folders on the left. You should be able to see the dates of each backup, and then just click on the date before wordpress was corrupted.

I hope this works for you! I'm sorry if it does not, it's the only good way I know of to get your site back without having made your own backup files.

You haven't lived until you've deleted a website on accident. A few months back, I deleted an entire hosting account with about 30 sites on it in the blink of an eye. You can probably imagine how sick I was.

Thankfully, Hostmonster had backed up everything like clockwork just a few hours before and they had me back in business within several hours. I lost about 6 hours of productivity at the most.

I hope you have a similar positive ending.

Be careful working in an FTP client folks... You CAN delete it all without even knowing what odd keystroke or click you made.

  It's so true. Exactly what happened to me. I guess some have never experienced this, but if you want to test it, backup your site, get on your FTP client and delete a file in your wordpress folders. I'm kidding though, don't do this. It's not fun when it happens.
